Alice was surprised to see the police. Had Max called them?
Chloe smirked. “Officer, Alice acted impulsively, breaking the law by locking everyone’s phones. She should apologize and accept the consequences.
Max added, Alice hacked the school forum and locked our phones. She’s a gold digger who doesn’t want anyone to talk about it!”
“She’ll be expelled,” Max muttered, confident that a simple call to the principal would be enough to get rid of Alice.
Garcia, we’re here.
Alice calmly watched the officers, thinking she might need a lawyer. She wouldn’t back down.
The officers, however, turned. to Max. “Ms.

“Me? What for? You should be arresting Alice!”
“Ms. Garcia, we need you to come with us.”
“I haven’t broken any laws! Why should I go with you?”
“Ms. Garcia, we’re investigating your involvement in the bullying of a classmate in high school, which resulted in their suicide. We have new evidence.”

case is closed! Her family had taken care of it.
“Ms. Garcia, this is an arrest warrant. You must come with us.”
“Don’t touch me! Do you know who I am? My brother–in–law is the King of Washington! You’ll all regret this! She was taken away.
The class was stunned. Alice hadn’t expected Max’s arrest, but the charges seemed to fit Max’s behavior.
Chloe, elated, put on a virtuous act.“Alice, now that Ms. Garcia is gone, you should unlock our phones.”
“Looks like you were involved too, Alice said sarcastically.
Chloe looked guilty. “I was just explaining your actions, but what you did was still wrong! Professor, don’t you agree?”
The professor was torn. This involved the business school, clearly targeting Alice. But Alice was incredibly strong–willed and talented; he couldn’t crack her code. Both sides were formidable.
He coughed. I’ll contact the advisor to see how to handle this.”
Chloe was anxious. “This is a small matter, no need for a long discussion. We need our phones back!”
“The truth of the post isn’t clear, so I can’t conclude anything,” he said. If Alice was truly that skilled, she didn’t need to rely on rich men. The professor suspected she’d been framed. He couldn’t lose such a promising student.
He looked at Alice, his tone kinder.“Alice, I’ll report this. The school won’t unjustly accuse anyone.”
“Thank you, Professor.” Alice was surprised by his support.
The class erupted in discussion once the professor left.
Alice stood on the podium.“Unlocking your phones is simple. I’ve already explained the method.” She gathered her things to leave. Chloe approached. “Alice, as friends, unlock my phone.” “Friends?” Alice’s gaze was filled with sarcasm. She left without engaging with Chloe. They enjoyed spreading rumors; she’d make them pay.
Back in the dorm, exhausted, she wanted a shower. The door burst open. Chloe stormed in. “Alice, you’re outrageous! Locking everyone’s phones!”
Alice saw others outside, phones locked. She was impatient.“Are you deaf? I said how to unlock. them a public apology.”
Chloe scoffed.” They weren’t wrong! Why should they apologize?”
“Then leave!” Alice refused to waste time with these hypocrites.
Unlock our phones! You’re going too far!”
“You can’t do this! It’s freedom of speech!”
Alice laughed.“As women, did you ever consider that you might face the same thing one day? A simple post and photo, and you’re slut–shamed! I can fight back, but what could you do? Did you think about the consequences?”
Silence fell. Chloe spoke, “Girls should support girls, not slut–shame each other!” Some girls left. Chloe glared at
glared at Chloe.“If Max finds out, you’re finished!” Alice said coldly, “Max has a murder charge hanging over her head. She’ll be busy.”
Chloe sat down.
Alice showered and got on her computer, hacking into the bar’s security system. There was not footage from the third floor, only the first and second. She only found the footage of her outside the restroom on the second floor; the footage from that night had been deleted. She copied the data. Only one person could recover it – the guy from the black Danielet. She hadn’t contacted him since the incident.
She fell asleep, exhausted. She was awakened by Chen Guo.
“The advisor is here. It’s about the forum post!”
“Alice, you’re finished. The advisor will make you unlock the phones.” Chloe sneered, hoping for a disciplinary action.
Alice got dressed and received a call from her brother, Ethan.
“Alice, you’ve made an enemy of the Garcia family. Don’t drag the Windham family down with you!”
“Chloe ratted me out, right?”
“Chloe is doing this for your own good. She pleaded with me to help you with the Garcia family. She’s not as cold–hearted as you!”
Ethan said coldly, “Just apologize, and I’ll help you.”
