Chapter 171
Alice’s statement caused a stir.
Luke’s father remained calm. “Alice, accusing us
of plagiarism is ridiculous! Our company has so many talented people; why would we steal from at small company like yours?” “Why not?”
Alice’s representative spoke indignantly. “That’s
indignantly. “That’s right. We worked hard on this.” Luke’s father chuckled.“You’re just jealous of our excellent presentation, so you’re making false
accusations.
Alice scoffed. Do I need to?”
“If you’re so confident, show me the evidence.”
The representative said, “We have it. Our prepared presentation is the evidence.” “That only proves you stole from us! Doesn’t it?”
Luke’s father looked at Alice, acting self–righteous. “Stop embarrassing yourself. Win with skill, not underhanded tactics.”
Alice gritted her teeth.“Sure enough, those in the business world have dirty hands.” Seeing Alice’s expression, Luke’s father felt pleased.
His tone was soft yet menacing.“I advised you earlier. Apologize, come back, but you refused!”

Alice. What’s going on here “Need I explain? Alice must have a relationship with their CEO. To climb the ladder, she leaked our ideas.”
The representative frowned.“Alice’s not that kind of person.”
“Maybe she accidentally leaked it while with him!”
Alice turned to a gossiping colleague. “Watch your mouth. I have nothing to do with him!” “Then explain how our work ended
up in their presentation!”
Alice looked at Chloe and Luke. “You two are quite clever!”
Chloe and Luke avoided her gaze.
Luke’s father barked, “Alice, the victor writes the history. The business world is a battlefield. That’s lesson number one. Remember it!”
A Maple Leaf employee stood up, addressing the officials. I object! I’m reporting Alice and Mr. Windham’s illegal relationship, resulting in the leak of our company secrets!” Luke’s father glared.“He’s sWindhaming me! I’ll sue him!”
“Am I wrong?”
“Though I hate to admit it, Alice is my estranged sister! I apologize for this. She’s always been strong–willed, using any means to achieve her goals!”
After Luke’s father explained his relationship with Alice, the employee’s face turned pale. Alice was a heiress? She never mentioned it and didn’t dress expensively. It was impossible to tell!

The representative looked at Alice. “Is he really your brother?”
“Though I hate to admit it, he was my brother. But we’ve cut ties. We have nothing to do with
each other!”

Luke’s father was determined to force Alice to yield!
Alice clapped sarcastically. “Excellent performance. But let me tell you, you’re the ones who’ll be receiving lawsuits!”
She turned to the officials. “Director, you believe me now.”
The director nodded.“I understand.”
Luke’s father addressed the director.“Director, my sister often lies. She ran away to spite us, abandoning her privileged life.”
The director pushed up his glasses. “But your sister showed me their ideas before the meeting.”
The smile vanished from Luke’s father’s face. What? Alice had shown the director the ideas beforehand? Why didn’t he know?
Luke’s father looked at Chloe and Luke. Didn’t they know?
Alice smiled faintly. “Don’t look at them. If those two idiots knew, there wouldn’t have been a show.”
Did she think she’d leave her laptop open with the documents displayed? She wasn’t stupid!
But two idiots had fallen for it!
Chloe finally realized she’d been tricked. Alice deliberately left her laptop open for her!
Chloe slumped in her chair. What to do? Everything was over.
The situation reversed swiftly.
Alice smirked.“I recall the rules state that any unrealistic claims, underhanded tactics, or unfair competition will result in disqualification.”
Luke’s father realized he’d been outmaneuvered. Alice had played it perfectly, setting him up. He couldn’t explain himself now.
He’d come confident, determined to humiliate Alice. Chloe’s stolen ideas were impressive; he’d used them to be safe. He wanted to teach Alice a lesson!
But violating the rules meant disqualification.
Luke’s father didn’t want to lose! He could lose the project, but not to Alice.
Luke’s father addressed the director. “There’s more to the story. I can explain.”
“Mr. Windham, please return to your seat. Presentations will continue. We’ll discuss your matter after the event.”
Luke’s father reluctantly returned to his seat.
Alice walked past him, her laptop in hand.
She said lightly, The victor writes the history. Thank you for the demonstration!” Luke’s father paused, his face grim.

Chloe glared at Alice onstage, filled with resentment: This bitch! Why didn’t she fall into the trap? Why wouldn’t she lose for once?
Why did Alice always win? Why was life so unfair?
Alice stood onstage, opening her presentation. The content was entirely different from her prepared material!

He’d been too careless, underestimating Alice.
Looking at the confident and brilliant Alice, Luke’s father felt a strange mix of emotions. Alice had truly grown. She was no longer just stubborn; she was a force to be reckoned with. Chloe watched Alice, consumed by jealousy.
Luke’s face was grim. He regretted conspiring with Chloe. Alice would never trust him again! It was all Chloe’s fault!
Twenty minutes later, Alice’s impressive presentation ended.
Silence filled the room.
The director applauded.“Excellent! Alice, your ideas are groundbreaking, but some were hard to follow. We need to discuss them further.”
“Of course.”
Alice breathed a sigh of relief. She hadn’t finished preparing that presentation and had improvised on stage.
The Maple Leaf team was stunned by Alice’s performance.
The representative looked at Alice.“When did you create this?”
Alice’s performance was exceptional!
“Last night. It’s not complete, so I didn’t tell you. I didn’t expect it to be useful today!”
The representative spoke confidently. “Director, what about the Windham Corporation’s plagiarism?”
Luke’s father stared at Alice, his face darkening.
