Alice’s smile vanished. He was getting bolder.“The room is from Mom and Dad. You have no right to ask me to move.”
“Your room is the biggest. Why shouldn’t you move? Chloe and I need a big room after we get married. You can have Chloe’s smaller room.” Lewis, seeing Alice defend him, felt emboldened, Alice smirked.“Fifth brother, you want my room? Let me tell you what happened in my room the other day…”
Chloe’s face turned pale. “Fifth brother, I suddenly feel unwell.”
“What’s wrong?”
“I don’t know. My chest hurts. Look at me.”
Lewis blushed.“I’ll call the family doctor.” He held Chloe and yelled at Alice, “Call the doctor!” Alice calmly ate her dessert, not moving.
Lawrence sneered.“Fifth brother, Chloe always feigns illness; a

Isn’t this more interesting? If you want to say it, go ahead. I’m not stopping you.” Alice knew the video couldn’t be used yet. She needed to plan how to catch Chloe’s father. The foundation lead had dried up.
After Alice left, Lawrence didn’t tell Lewis; he thought Alice didn’t want to upset him. Did that mean she still cared about her brothers? He felt guilty about his past actions. Alice texted Jack about the Land family drama, but he didn’t reply. The video of Chloe and the butler was a hanging sword over her. Alice remembered Lewis had participated in the AI project–creating smart prosthetics–in her past life. She’d developed it for him; it had become very successful. If Lewis wanted to marry Chloe, he’d want advanced prosthetics to appear more “normal.” Maybe she could start with that project.
She checked the time; Jack hadn’t replied. Where was he? She called him; a woman answered. Alice gasped; the voice was familiar.
“Miss Garcia?” Alice was incredulous.
“Ms. Alice, I know you have questions. It’s not the time. Let’s meet tomorrow morning at the cafe across from school.”
“Why do
you have Jack’s phone? You…”
The call ended. Alice tried again; it was disconnected. Her mind was racing. Why did Julia Garcia have Jack’s phone so late at night? Were they together?
She checked her chat with Jack; everything seemed normal. Was the call a hallucination?
Alice tossed and turned all night, unable to sleep. She wondered about Jack and Julia Garcia. She remembered Julia Garcia bringing Jack food when he was sick. She’d thought it was just friends,

Alice was in a bad mood; she showered and went downstairs. The Land family was awake.
Alice looked at Ethan.“The money isn’t here yet!”
“I’ll have my secretary transfer it.”
“Now, or I can’t guarantee I won’t do something.” Alice was like a powder keg. Ethan saw her bad mood; he didn’t want to anger her. He transferred the money.“Happy now?”
Alice checked her phone and ate silently.
Lewis and Chloe entered the dining room. Lewis said, “Did you hear me? Give up your room for our wedding room!”
Alice lost her appetite. She walked towards Chloe, who paled.“Fifth brother, let’s not fight over the room.” Chloe feared Alice would reveal the video.
Alice glared at them and left. Chloe breathed a sigh of relief.“Fifth brother, that room was left for Alice; we can’t take it.”
Lewis was unhappy.“It’s just a room; why are you so stingy?”
Lawrence said, “Since Fifth brother is so generous, give Alice the assets Mom and Dad left you.
“Why?”
“It’s Mom and Dad’s inheritance; what’s the difference?” Lawrence retorted. Lewis was furious. Lawrence felt he was like Lewis, favoring Chloe and mistreating Alice.“Fifth brother, you’ll regret treating Alice like this.”
“I won’t!” Lewis held Chloe’s hand.
Chloe smirked; she wanted to take everything from Alice.
Alice went to the cafe across from school. She saw Julia Garcia, impeccably dressed. Alice sat down.“Why did you have his phone? Last night…” She couldn’t continue Julia Garcia stirred her coffee.“Last night, we were together.”
