“Yeah, our dorm leader was just talking casually, and everyone says stuff like that. Why should she get disciplined?”
Alice figured out their purpose in approaching her.
She replied calmly, “I never asked the school to discipline anyone, and I don’t even know how the school handled the rumor–mongering issue.”
Mary spoke up, “I know. The school seemed to have disciplined the one who took the photos and the one who posted them. Those two were troublemakers–one took photos and spread them, and the other wrote and spread lies. They should be disciplined.”
Mary didn’t name names but implied that the two culprits had been punished. If the dorm leader was punished, it would be either because she was the one who took and spread the photos or the one who wrote the posts. She was hardly innocent.
The three girls who had come charging over fell silent.
The girlfriend of the news agency president looked at Alice, pitifully saying, “Alice, I didn’t spread any rumors. I just took a photo by accident and sent it to my boyfriend. I didn’t know he would write that nonsense.”
Alice said, “But that’s not what you said at the seminar.”
Alice wasn’t kind and stupid. She coldly responded, “Since you did this, you should take responsibility for the consequences.”
She felt that the other girl must have done this a few times before, considering how brazenly she spoke even in front of the principal.
The girl turned pale and apologized to Alice.“Alice, I was wrong. Please forgive me this time.” Her sudden action drew attention from the surrounding crowd.
Since Alice had become somewhat of a school celebrity, many students were watching, and the crowd was only growing.
“Stop with the act.”
Lana shoved the girl away and loudly said, “Everyone at this school has been a victim of rumors at some point. We’ve all been worried about being slandered. I think the forums should have been dealt with long ago. At least now, those who spread rumors will be punished, and maybe it’ll stop others from doing the same in the future.”
Mary added, “And the school disciplined the people who spread rumors. If you were disciplined, it’s because you did something wrong.”
“But the dorm leader didn’t mean

Chloe went on, bragging, “Many families are coming because it’s the first time the boss of the PZ Company will publicly appear at my wedding. They all want to network with Ethan and attend my wedding. So a lot of wealthy people will be here.”
