“Tell me, where’s Dari? I’ve been looking for him for years. He’s been hiding so well, and he even stole

The interrogator, after listening, asked, “Dari’s been in contact with you all this time, hasn’t he? And yet you’re still trying to say you didn’t con me out of money?”
“I didn’t! You can just go to the store and find him. Or I can make the call for you,” Aviana pleaded.
Her hatred for Darren burned through her words. That damn fool!
The phone was quickly taken from her. He called Darren. But it went straight to voicemail. Aviana panicked.“This is the number I’ve always used to reach out to him. I’m not lying. I swear, I can even give you some money as compensation. Just let me go, and the money is yours.” All she wanted now was to escape this place.
“After what happened, I’ve suffered enough! All these years, I’ve been living like a ghost. You think giving me some money will fix everything?”
“Then what do
you want?”
Aviana, on the edge of breaking down, looked desperate.“If something happens to me, people will come looking. My best friend is Amber. With the Wilson family backing her, you won’t be able to hide for long. Your best bet is to take the money and let me go.”
Before she could finish, a slap rang out. The blindfold fell from her eyes. She saw the dingy, chaotic room for the first time. This was no ordinary place. Her heart sank. What if her family had realized she was missing by now? If it was her eldest daughter who found out, she’d be the first to run to Amber for help. If the Wilson family was involved, it wouldn’t take long for them to find her. With that thought, Aviana felt a sense of relief.
She looked at the masked man in front of her, her voice a mixture of fear and desperation.“I can give you the money.
You can go
find Dari and settle the score with him. He’s the one who took
your money.”
Her mind seethed with anger toward Darren. That bastard! How could he betray her like this?
“Dari won’t even answer the call. Why should I trust what you’re saying? If I let you go and Dari’s still nowhere to be found, I’d be the one at a loss.”

Aviana’s face turned pale.“I didn’t ask you to kill anyone! I only told you to cause an accident to stop the Welch family from making it to the bidding. It wasn’t supposed to be anything more. But you screwed up and killed them!”
When Aviana heard the news, she was shocked.
She never meant for anyone to die, just to injure them enough to miss the bidding

Aviana’s expression hardened.“I can give you money,

have to let me go.
“You have to tell me where Dari is.”
“How would I know where he is? All I know is that he opened a dealership. Then he lost all his money gambling and sold the place. Now he works as a mechanic there.” Aviana regretted ever getting involved with these people. Now, she was trapped, constantly being harassed.
When Alice heard this, she looked at Jack in confusion.
