She didn’t think it was a coincidence.
Alice didn’t hide the look of surprise on her face. Mary, noticing her reaction, quickly tried to smooth things over.“Luna, this is Alice Welch, my best friend. She’s just surprised to see you here.”
“I get it. I should’ve told you I was coming back. I heard about the situation back home and wanted to check on you,” Luna replied.
Alice snapped out of her trance.
She glanced at the young,
elegant lady and masked her surprise.“Mary has

you before.”
“Really? It’s a shame that I can’t do much to help her. A visit is all I can do. Now that I know she’s alright, I can rest assured now.”
Luna stood up. “I’ll help if you wanna turn against the Parker family.”
Mary’s eyes reddened at her words. “Thank you, Luna.”
“Come on. Your brother and I rely on you. Only when you’re doing well could we hope for the same.”
Alice silently observed Luna. Upon closer inspection, she realized Luna didn’t look that much like Chloe.
It was just their outline and the eyes that were somewhat similar.
In this world, there indeed were people who looked very much alike. It was not that unusual.
After Luna left, Alice closed the door and approached Mary.
“Why did she suddenly return from overseas?”
Alice had heard about Luna. She’s Mary’s stepmother, who had been taking care of her frail, sickly son abroad for treatment. She hadn’t returned for many years. It was as if she didn’t even exist.
She didn’t even show up for Mary’s engagement party.

Alice seemed hesitant. She was a bit skeptical about Luna’s relationship with Chloe, so she intended to ask Mary about it.
Mary looked up.“I know what you’re thinking. She does look a bit like Chloe, but I doubt they’re related. Luna has been with my father for many years.”
Actually, Mary was also startled when she saw Luna.
She didn’t realize how much Luna looked like Chloe until just now.
Alice understood what Mary was implying.
Luna had been with Mary’s father for many years, which indicated that she had no connections with the Black family.

She couldn’t have suddenly become the mistress of a big shot.
Besides, the Parker family was known for their investigative skills.
If Luna had any connection to the Black family, she couldn’t have hidden it from them.
Alice finally let out a sigh of relief.
Lana chimed in, “I was scared too. I thought she might be related to Chloe. Turns out that they just look alike. It isn’t something unusual though. Some celebrities look alike although they’re not related by blood.”
Alice nodded. “Maybe I’m being paranoid.”
Perhaps because the Black family was cunning, she just couldn’t let her guard down.
Until she saw the Black and Garcia families in jail, Alice wouldn’t be at ease.
Mary spoke up. “The Garcia family has been investigating the Welch family. They must’ve heard about the Welches‘ financial crisis caused by Chloe’s embezzlement. I guess they would use it against you. Be careful.”

“I know you’re worried about the future, but life is short. Enjoy it while you can. You won’t die if you break up.” Lana laughed,“He’s handsome and fit. Dating him wouldn’t be a loss.”
Besides, he was so nice to Alice.
Alice checked the time.“Let’s go. We’re going to be late for class.”
