Luke’s angry words sent shivers down the team lead’s spine. Did this newbie have some powerful backing?
Chloe approached.“Sixth Brother, what’s happening?”
Luke berated the team lead. This idiot hit someone! Fire him.”
The team lead stammered, “It wasn’t me! The newbie hit me first. I was defending myself.”
Chloe, playing the innocent victim, said, But she’s a girl. You shouldn’t be so petty.” The team lead didn’t dare argue; Luke was clearly supporting the newbie, and he didn’t know their relationship.

Luke looked at Alice. His tone was stiff.“What do you think?”
Alice was impassive.“I don’t care.” She grabbed her bag and left.
Luke was furious. “What’s her attitude?” He’d just defended her, and she was ungrateful? What a viper!
Chloe smirked inwardly. After being hurt by Luke, Alice wouldn’t forgive him easily. This was good for her.
Chloe said generously, ‘She’s always been like that, Sixth Brother. Let’s talk outside.” She didn’t want company employees to know Alice was the true Lu heiress. If Alice didn’t want the heiress title, she would take it.
The next day, many people stared at Alice. She knew it was because of yesterday’s incident. But once she finished testing the software, she could leave.
A female colleague approached. What’s your relationship with Sixth Master Lu?”
“Nothing.”
“I don’t believe you. If you weren’t close, why did he defend you yesterday? The team lead was terrified. Yesterday’s events had spread throughout the company. The new engineer had. connections. ‘No need. I’ve written the patch code. It’s ready for testing.”
The team lead scoffed. You finished that fast? Are you kidding?”
“You’re unskilled, but that doesn’t mean everyone else is. Alice retorted coldly.
He didn’t dare act, only
muttering sourly, “Fine. Test it. If you fail, get lost!” Alice copied the code to a USB drive and went to the server room. Chloe followed, exchanging at

boast.”
He sat down and started the test. It passed smoothly.
The team lead looked at Alice triumphantly. “How about that? Skill!”
Alice sneered. “Stealing someone else’s code and boasting about your skills? You’re good at stealing and bragging.”
“What are you talking about?” The team lead was furious and glanced nervously at Chloe.
Chloe said calmly, “The team lead is skilled. You can’t say he stole it just because your code is bad.” The manager impatiently told Alice, “You’re fired.”
“Who dares fire her?”
Noah entered, followed by Secretary Davis.
Chloe was annoyed. Why did he have to come now?
The manager hastily said, “Mr. Windham, I fired her for a reason. Her code was wrong, and her attitude was terrible.
She didn’t cooperate. We can’t keep such an employee.”
Noah was cold.“She wasn’t hired as an employee. She’s your future boss. Why should she cooperate?”
The room was stunned. Chloe’s expression changed. What did that mean? Was Noah planning to let Alice run the branch?
The team lead exclaimed, “Why her?”
“Because she’s my sister, Noah’s sister. Do you have a problem?”
