Chapter11
She stooped and took out her own suitcase.
Just as she was about to pack up, she heard the sound of a car hom downstairs.
‘Mr. Crawford…”
“Mr. Crawford…”
“Mr. Crawford…”
One after another, respectful voices floated in Valerie’s ears from the entrance downstairs.
Terrence had come back.
Valerie quickly stuffed the suitcase back in.
She didn’t want Terrence to know that she would leave soon.
Just as she put the suitcase back in, she noticed a tall figure standing at the door.
Although Terrence’s expression was stained with weariness, his handsome features appeared distinct and perfect under the warm light in the hallway. He was like a work of art.
Valerie’s heart suddenly skipped a beat.
“What are you doing?” Terrence’s gaze was sharp, as if he could see through her effortlessly.
Valerie stood in front of the suitcase and said, “Looking for something.”
Terrence walked in and didn’t doubt Valerie’s words.
“I’ve been too busy these past two days. I just confirmed with Theodore. I have some free time on the 19th. Let’s go get our marriage license on that day.”
Again, he spoke as if he was issuing an order.
Valerie tilted her head slightly and said, “The 19th is my birthday.”
At that moment, she caught a fleeting look of astonishment in Terrence’s eyes.
“I have made plans that day,” she continued.
“You never celebrated your birthday, didn’t you?” he asked.
Valerie replied in her heart, “I did, but never with you before.”
“Then let’s find another day.” With that, Terrence tugged at his tie and entered the bathroom.
Half an hour later, he got out with only a bath towel around his waist.
The water droplets slid down his chest and landed on his eight–pack abs.
That abs that once drove Valerie crazy were now plain and dull in her eyes.
Terrence looked at Valerie, who was looking at her phone with her head down.
He furrowed his brow slightly.
After all, in the past, whenever he showed his abs, Valerie would get excited and try to touch them. “Bedtime.” Terrence turned off the light.
