Chapter12
Valerie stood up in the darkness and said, “I should
go back.”
Terrence furrowed his brows, watching as she walked out.
The door was closed again, and the room fell back into darkness.
A trace of panic flashed through Terrence’s heart.
But he told himself in his heart, “No.
“It’s okay.
“Nothing’s gonna happen.”
In the next few days, Valerie didn’t see Terrence again.
She heard from Roderick that Terrence seemed to have gone on a business trip.
Roderick also couldn’t reach Terrence.
If it were in the past, this was definitely not good news for Valerie.
But now, it was great news.
While Terrence was away, she could take the opportunity to pack up her things in Foliage Villa.
She didn’t have many things in Foliage Villa.
Most of those things were bought by her for Terrence.
Lovers‘ watches, clothes, teddy bears, and so on.
But Terrence them all too childish and stuffed them into the corner of the wardrobe.
Valerie took out those gifts one by one and stuffed them into the suitcase.
Then, with it, she left Foliage Villa.
Some maids saw her leaving. But they thought she was going out on a business trip, so they didn’t ask anything.
Soon, the 19th arrived.
Valerie had crossed out all the items on her to–do list.
She just needed to wait for the arrival of the 20th and then leave this city.
In the evening, Valerie went to a cake shop in the city center alone. Then, she found a place in the park and slowly ate the small cake. The cake was very sweet.
She didn’t have to worry about Terrence coming back halfway.
She looked up at the pitch–black sky, and a faint smile appeared on her face.
Just at that moment, fireworks burst in the sky.
The colorful fireworks illuminated the night sky, creating a dazzling display that made the entire dark sky as bright as day.
When Valerie felt sore in her neck, the fireworks finally came to an end.
Just then, her phone vibrated.
She took out her phone and glanced at it.
It was a message from Terrence.
