Chapter2
It had been so many years. If Margaret was still not pregnant, Valerie would start to suspect that there might be a problem with Terrence’s reproductive function.
Valerie didn’t break up with Terrence. Instead, she mentioned getting married a few days ago.
Perhaps it was because she was unwilling to give up.
When she was eighteen, at the entrance of the university, she saw Terrence for the first time and couldn’t help but fall in love with him.
Everyone said that Terrence was the prince of the Crawford family, aloof and unattainable.
But Valerie was a stubborn person. With a heart full of passion, she pursued Terrence like a moth to a flame.
In the third year of pursuing Terrence, she finally succeeded.
But she wasn’t happy at that time.
Because the next second after she made it, Terrence received a phone call from Margaret.
And then, he left Valerie alone in the cold wind.
It was also at that time that she came to know that Terrence had an unforgettable crush.
Letting out a sigh, Valerie dialed again.
But this time, she didn’t call Terrence.
The phone was quickly connected, and before the woman on the other end could say anything, Valerie said calmly and flatly, “I accept the arranged marriage.”
On the other end of the phone was Valerie’s mother, Jazlynn Hatfield. Jazlynn was quite surprised to hear that Valerie had finally had a change of mind.“You’ve thought it through?”
Valerie didn’t hesitate at all.“Yes.”
Jazlynn asked, “When will you be back then?”
“The 20th of this month.”
With that, Valerie hung up the phone, got in the car, and went home.
Terrence hurt her feelings once again.
But Valerie told herself that this was the last time.
She was really tired. After getting home, she took a shower and then lay down on the bed.
Actually, she could just leave Terrence.
But over the past seven years, she had become too deeply attached to him.
In the next half a month, she had to work against the clock to separate herself from Terrence.
At night…
While sleeping, Valerie felt the bed beside her sink down, and then she was enveloped in a cold embrace.
