Valerie thought of Terrence and Margaret.
When they took wedding photos one day, would Terrence also smile so brightly?
Valerie chuckled.
That had nothing to do with her.
She would have a fresh start.
Valerie was immersed in her own thoughts.
She did not hear the sound of the horn behind her car at all.
When she came to her senses, there were only sounds of amazement.
Following the crowd’s gaze, Valerie was surprised by what she saw.
She saw a waiter pushing a small cart filled with roses slowly walking towards her.
She looked behind the waiter.
There was no one.
Soon, the waiter stopped in front of her.
“Ms. Schwartz, these are roses from Mr. Crawford.”
Valerie was about to speak when she heard another wave of exclamations.
She looked up and saw Terrence getting out of the car in a black suit.
He had long limbs, a perfect figure, and delicate facial features, making the girls at the scene cheer.
But Valerie felt that there was a more important reason.
The diamond ring in his hand was sparkling.
That ring was as big as a pigeon egg.
It was very rare.
“Valerie.” Terrence walked up to Valerie. Instead of kneeling on one knee, he just held the diamond ring before her.“Can you stop being mad at
me now?”
Valerie’s gaze swept over the roses and the ring.
“So, are you saying that we should get back together?”
“Of course, Valerie, after we go back to Houston, I will marry you right away, and also, we will have a big, luxurious wedding.” Terrence’s tone was condescending.
Valerie’s eyes flickered several times.
A message Margaret sent Terrence a year ago suddenly came to her mind.
It was Margaret’s birthday.
Terrence gave her a scarf that he wove himself.
The scarf looked awful.
But it was meticulously woven by Terrence, stitch by stitch.
And, Valerie witnessed the entire process.
At that time, she thought that Terrence was giving her the scarf.
Because it would be Valentine’s Day a month later.
Until…
Valerie snapped back to her senses, and her gaze again fell upon the roses and the diamond ring.
