Terrence’s lips pressed into a straight line.
He hated her sarcastic tone.
But remembering how she’d been labeled a mistress for years, he softened slightly.“Living in Foliage Villa is better than this dump.”
Valerie smiled faintly, “I prefer it here. At least my soul is free.”
Terrence was silent for a moment before saying, “Let’s go.”
Valerie let out a soft laugh but didn’t resist. She stood up and walked to the door.
Terrence took her cold hand, and he felt a chill inside.
They went downstairs together.
The people watching the show slowly dispersed.
They all looked at each other with a puzzled expression in their eyes.
Everyone said Valerie was Terrence’s “simp,” but somehow, they felt it was the other way around.
At the hospital, Makenzie was crying her eyes out.“Margaret, you must help my family. All I did was call Valerie a mistress at the restaurant. And Terrence is driving our family to the brink of bankruptcy.”
Originally, it was agreed that as long as Valerie was found, the Carroll family would be fine.
But Terrence didn’t keep his word and still hadn’t lifted the threat against the Carroll family.
Now, with their funds cut off, the family probably wouldn’t last much longer.
Margaret wasn’t listening to Makenzie’s cries at all.
She was on the verge of going crazy herself, especially after seeing Makenzie on TV saying she and Terrence weren’t together.
“Idiot!” she screamed internally.“You idiot!”
“Ugh!” Margaret spat out a mouthful of blood.
