Margaret choked, “Esteban, I want to be alone and calm down.”
Esteban was stunned for a moment.
“Okay,”
The door opened and closed again. Margaret could no longer contain the anger in her heart, and she twisted the blanket into a ball.
She thought, “Valerie!”
“I really underestimated you!”
Margaret picked up the phone from the ground.
It was of good quality and had not been broken by being smashed.
She opened her contacts and searched for someone besides Makenzie who could help her. Her fingers stopped suddenly.
Then, the corners of her lips curved slightly upward.
How did she forget about that person?
After Terrence left the hospital, he headed straight to Foliage Villa.
As soon as he entered the villa, he asked, “Is Valerie still here?”
After–receiving a positive answer, he went upstairs with soft steps.
He pushed open the door to Valerie’s bedroom and saw at once that she was curled up on the bed.
Her petite figure, resembling that of a young animal, was endearing to others.
He moved noiselessly to the edge of the bed. Then, his heart trembled fiercely.
Valerie’s face was stained with tears.
It seemed like she had cried for a long time.
He crouched down and gently wiped away the tears from Valerie’s face.
With each wipe, Terrence felt his heart gripped by an invisible hand.
He felt as if he could not breathe.
How much injustice had she suffered?
Terrence bent down and kissed the tear that was at the corner of Valerie’s eye.
The next second, he stood up and saw a pair of eyes staring at him intensely in the darkness.
The eyes were deep, but full of hate.
His breath came in a pause, and his heart ached more.
