“You are back!” Terrence said with his head low as his slender fingers tapped on the tablet.
He was wearing a white home outfit and suit pants, looking lazy and casual,
But Valerie still sensed a hint of anger in his tone.
Having been by Terrence’s side for seven years, she knew his temper well.
In the
past,
whenever she noticed that Terrence was in a bad mood, she would try her best to cheer him up.
But now, she didn’t love him anymore. Whether Terrence was in a bad mood or not had nothing to do with her.
Ignoring Terrence, Valerie walked up the stairs.
Terrence looked up and caught sight of Valerie’s determined figure walking away.
He frowned and said, “Valerie!”
Valerie continued to climb the stairs step by step as if she hadn’t heard him.
Terrence hurriedly got up and took a few steps to Valerie. He grabbed Valerie’s wrist and said, “I’m talking to you. Can’t you hear me?”
Valerie stared at her wrist grabbed by Terrence, and said with her voice cold, “If you want me to stay here in Foliage Villa, just leave me alone. Otherwise, I don’t mind jumping off the second floor.”
Terrence’s gaze sharpened as he looked at the scar on Valerie’s forehead that had not completely faded.
He tightened his grip on Valerie even harder and said, “You know, I never buy into that.”
Valerie slowly rolled her eyes.
A brilliant smile appeared on her face.
She looked like a weeping rose.
She knew that, of course.
“So, I just want to be done with it.”
Terrence’s brows furrowed as he watched the unwavering determination in her eyes. “Valerie, do you have to talk to me like that? What do you want? If you desire to be Mrs. Crawford, I can marry you right now!”
Valerie broke free from Terrence and said, “Do you still think that I am angry with you for that? I think I have nothing to talk about with you!”
