“Okay, thank you.”
Valerie hung up the phone and glanced at the front door from the second floor.
She didn’t see Terrence’s Rolls–Royce. She felt relieved and went downstairs.
However, as soon as she went downstairs, she saw Terrence sitting at the dining table.
Terrence was dressed in a suit, a white shirt, and a casually tied sky blue tie. His cold features softened slightly under the morning sunlight from the window. He looked like a divine god.
Valerie’s gaze couldn’t move away from the tie around Terrence’s neck.
She gave the tie to Terrence three years ago on his birthday.
Terrence didn’t like it and threw it onto the sofa.
She was quite sad.
After the birthday banquet ended, she tried to find the tie but failed.
Where did Terrence find the tie?
“Come over.”
Valerie wondered if it was just her imagination. Today, Terrence seemed quite gentle in his tone.
He seemed as if being merged with the warm sunlight outside the window.
Although reluctant, she still walked towards the restaurant.
After all, she was hungry.
She had usually finished breakfast by this time in a day.
Valerie sat down at the farthest position from Terrence.
Kyra served breakfast attentively.
Valerie took the plate, composed, but she kept glancing at Terrence’s tie.
She was curious about how Terrence found the tie.
After a moment of silence, Valerie still asked, “Your tie…”
Terrence’s lips curled up. He said, “The tie looks quite nice. Is there any problem?”
Valerie’s movement froze.
Terrence described the tie as “nice“. It couldn’t be the one she gave him.
“Nothing.”
She lowered her head and took a bite of the bread. A bitter taste filled her throat. Even the bread made by the top became unappetizing.
Losing her appetite, Valerie pushed the plate away and got up to leave.
Terrence frowned.“Are you full?”
Valerie casually replied. Then she was about to go upstairs.
Terrence called her and said, “The company is having a celebration dinner next Friday night. Go with me.”
His commanding tone made Valerie’s stomach even more sick.
