Chapter 102
Right then, several girls arrived and asked, “Cindy, Beatrix, why are you here?” Beatrix led Cindy to their friends and said, “Cindy is drunk, so take her home.”
Those girls agreed and then led Cindy away. Then, Beatrix looked at Mateo and smiled.“Don’t worry, I can go home on my own. I drank little.”
Mateo gave Beatrix a disapproving look and said, “No. You are alone and drank wine. I will escort you home?
When Beatrix hesitated, Mateo took action. He took out his phone and tapped it a few times. “I called a taxi. Let’s go
Beatrix smiled at Mateo and then said, “Thank you.” Mateo responded with a gentle expression, “You are welcome. She followed him out of the bar.
Soon, a taxi stopped before Beatrix and Mateo outside the bar. Mateo held the car door for Beatriz gentlemanly.
“Thank you so much. My poor impression of you resulted from some rumors. I now know that rumors are just rumors, Beatrix said with a smile.
A bitter smile flashed past Mateo’s face. “I seldom explain as long as my acquaintances know who I am.”
Smiling, Beatrix asked, “Do you have a girlfriend?” After the momentary shock, Mateo subconsciously replied, “No.”
“Well, will you give me a chance?” Beatrix deliberately leaned over Mateo with a flirtatious smile. Her sweet fragrance was full of his nostrils in an instant, and he felt excited.
Mateo averted his gaze as the gentleman did. “Beatrix, we just got acquainted.”
“So what?” Speaking, Beatrix slightly raised her eyebrows at Mateo. She rested her head on his shoulder, held his hand, and flirtatiously scratched his palm.
Beatrix was very good at flirtation. Mateo was soon turned on, but he managed to maintain his gentlemanly image. “Beatrix, that is not right.”
“Why?” With a sweet smile, Beatrix deliberately blew into Mateo’s ear. “I don’t have a boyfriend, and you don’t have a girlfriend. I like you. What is not right?”
The Hawthorne family, rich and influential, was not inferior to the Hart family. If Mateo got married with Beatrix, his bright future would be secured.
In addition, Beatrix was much prettier than Holly in the eyes of Mateo. To be precise, the fat Holly disgusted Mateo.
Thinking, Mateo couldn’t help but grab Beatrix’s hand and then lowered his voice. “Beatrix, do you really like me?”
Beatrix raised her eyebrows slightly. “Of course. I have a crush on you. Mateo, will you be my boyfriend?”
With a faint smile, Mateo played hard to get. “Beatrix, I am a man of principles. I don’t fall for a woman just because she is good to me.”
Beatrix would be fooled if she didn’t know that Mateo was a jerk. She didn’t mind playing with him since he wanted to. “It’s alright. You will fall for me anyway,” she said.
Mateo kept his mouth shut. Smiling, Beatrix lifted Mateo’s chin with her fingers and said arrogantly, “From now on, yo mine.”
Before Mateo gave a response, Beatrix leaned over and kissed him. Instantly, he was turned on and wished to pin her on the backseat. Unfortunately, his reason reminded him of his public image.

He had better keep his gentlemanly image if he wanted to win Beatrix’s heart. He was clever enough to know that Beatrix’s interest in him might be fleeting
To get Beatrix under control, he needed to make her love him body and soul. Therefore, he sat upright and let Beatrix do whatever she wanted.
“That’s why I like you.” Beatrix chuckled by Mateo’s shoulder, and there was the desire to conquer in her eyes. Mateo remained expressionless.
Soon, the car arrived at Beatrix’s place. Beatrix got out of the car. Without hesitation, Mateo said goodbye to Beatrix and told the driver to drive away.
Standing at the door of her house, Beatrix rolled her eyes. She took a piece of tissue out of her bag and wiped her mouth fiercely before entering her house.
With anxiety on his face, Mateo told the driver to drive to the bar as quickly as possible because he needed a woman to satisfy his desires.
Hailey slightly sighed at the message from Beatrix. It seemed everything went on well.
Time ticked by. Recently, Hailey lived alone and hung out with Holly in the daytime. She was as good as her word. She made Holly run with her every morning and night after she promised to help Holly lose weight.
The effects of the workout were not conspicuous yet, but Holly felt happy. Her skin became more tender than before as if perspiration had taken the dirty stuff away out of her body.
Holly was grateful to Hailey. In that period, Hailey didn’t see Owen. She didn’t deliberately dodge him. She didn’t have time for him because she was busy helping Holly.
In the middle of that month, Hailey received a call from Thomas. She had informed nobody of her return to Hallon City, so Thomas didn’t get the news till now.
Under pressure from Thomas, Hailey had no choice but to go home. To her surprise, she saw an old acquaintance there.
“Raphael?” Hailey sounded surprised.
“You two know each other. What a good surprise!” Sitting on the sofa, Thomas said with a smile. Hailey explained, “I saw him
once.”
“Raphael is the grandson of my old friend, and I haven’t seen him for years,” Thomas introduced. Hailey nodded as her
response.
Raphael held a cup of coffee in his hand and had a gentle but shy smile. “Grandpa asked me to visit you. He will be glad to hear that you are in good health.”
After a pause, Raphael looked at Hailey and commented, “I didn’t expect the second meeting with you to happen so soon.”
Hailey replied with a smile, “Neither did I. Aren’t you a resident of Quailridge Town?”
“No. I grew up abroad and just finished university. I came home for a good opportunity. Before I find a satisfactory job, I travel around,” Raphael explained with a warm smile.
Smiling, Hailey nodded. Sensible, Thomas stood up and said, “Enjoy your talk. I need a walk.”
“Grandpa, he came to see you, so how can you leave?” Hailey furrowed her eyebrows slightly. She felt that Thomas was up to no good, and her intuition was right.
