If you solve it. I quit being your homeroom teacher. Molly sneered
“Deal, Hailey smirked.
Suddenly, Molly felt something was off, but it was too late to back out.
All the students watched.
Hailey picked up a piece of chalk and started solving the problem with ease.

She quickly filled half the blackboard with her solution. The classmates who hadn’t figured it out yet suddenly had a lightbulb moment when they saw her approach
Her hand moved fluidly, barely pausing. Soon, she finished the first solution, and after stretching her wrist, she wrote a
The second method was simple, reaching its conclusion in just a few lines.
Hailey raised her hand, and with a perfect arc, the chalk landed neatly in the box
She dusted her hands and turned to look at Molly, who was already dumbfounded on the podium smirking “Ms. Lugo, is this correct?”
Absolutely correct! Molly widened her eyes in shock, unable to say a word
Both solutions were correct, and the second one was particularly clever and concise. Without real talent, it might be hard to even understand the solution.
Molly realized she had stepped on a landmine. This girl in front of her was clearly a genius
Her face turned sour as she tried to brush it off with a forced smile. I didn’t expect Hailey to be so talented. Everyone should learn from her. Alright, Hailey, go back to your seat.”
But Hailey didn’t move. She crossed her arms and looked at Molly with a half smile. “Ms. Lugo, don’t you remember what you said?”
“Hailey, Ms. Lugo didn’t mean it. Why are you being so aggressive? She was just trying to help you.” Selena stepped in again 10 smooth things over.
“Yeah, Hailey, can’t you be more generous? Ms. Lugo has been teaching us for so long. You can’t just get a new teacher for our class because of you,” Annie chimed in, looking down on Hailey disdainfully
A few classmates started condemning Hailey, mostly Selena’s close friends and admirers
“Hailey, I think we should just let this go. We’re seniors now; it’s the most crucial time. Changing homeroom teachers at this point just doesn’t make sense. Plus, even though you’re really talented. Ms. Lugo was right to call you out since you were not paying attention in class A guy stood up, speaking gently on the surface but actually blaming Hailey

only turned cold.
At the sight of him. Hailey’s eyes instantly turned cold.
It was Mateo Stafford. The man she hated to the core.
Before she time traveled, she fell into Mateo’s sweet trap, infatuated with him, thinking he was her true love. But in the end. she only got a tragic death.
Hailey stared coldly at him, her nails digging into her palm, the pain bringing her back to clarity.
Mateo was known for his gentle and humble demeanor, polite and well–mannered, with good looks that made many girls
Swoon.
But he only liked Selena.
This was common knowledge in the class, though due to Selena’s celebrity status, their relationship was only flirtatious, not official.
Instantly, Mateo felt uneasy under Hailey’s gaze, sensing a strong dislike and disgust from her.
After a moment’s thought, he figured it out–just another girl trying to get his attention.
He immediately looked down on Hailey in his heart.
But on the surface, he remained gentle and polite, even softening his voice. “Hailey, since we’re all in the same class from now on, it’s best if we get along well. Let’s just let this matter pass, for my sake.”
Hailey looked coldly at him, then suddenly smiled. Her smile was bright, with a touch of carefree coolness, mysteriously captivating
She stared directly at him with her clear eyes as she questioned, “Excuse me, but who are you?”
Mateo’s face changed slightly, and then he smiled, “I haven’t introduced myself yet. Hailey, my name is Mateo Stafford. You were sleeping as soon as you came in, so you might not have noticed me. If you have any questions or need help, you can
come to me.”
Mateo finished his introduction with confidence, expecting the girl in front of him to surely show a gentle and shy side for him.
After all, he had stepped up
However, Hailey just responded with a flat “Oh,”
Mateo suddenly felt a bit embarrassed, and the smile on his lips got a bit stiff.
But he was a pro at saving face, clearing his throat softly, “Alright, let’s just move on from this. Ms. Lugo, let’s get back to
class.”
Molly gave Mateo a grateful glance, cleared her throat, and was about to speak.
“Who said this is over?” But the girl standing by the blackboard interrupted her leisurely
soul.
Hailey’s bright eyes were exceptionally clear, as if they could see straight through one’s se
She stared at Mateo coldly. “What’s it to you? Who gave you the right to decide for me?”
Mateo’s face flashed with embarrassment, and he was about to explain, but Hailey didn’t give him a chance to speak
“As a teacher, you ve gotta walk the walk if you talk the talk. What you just said, you’ve gotta do. Isn’t that the bare. minimum?” Hailey’s icy gaze landed on Molly.

Chapter 14
Molly’s face turned red, clutching her textbook tightly as she said through gritted teeth. “Hailey, don’t push it too far!”
“Push it too far?” Hailey chuckled. “How am 1 pushing it? Did I force you to quit?”
Molly was left speechless, her pleading eyes darting towards Selena.
But Selena kept her head down, avoiding Molly’s gaze. She couldn’t be bothered to help such a dummy.
Hailey’s aura was too strong, and for a moment, no one dared to speak.
“How about this?” Mateo spoke up again. “There’s an exam next week. Since Hailey’s so talented, why don’t we have a little competition? If your score’s higher than mine, Ms. Lugo leaves Class A. If it’s not, then this whole thing’s water under the bridge. Deal?”
Instantly, Selena shot an admiring gaze toward him.
Mateo noticed it and felt even more confident.
He had full faith in his grades. Every exam, he consistently ranked in the top ten, and even though he was a bit slower than Hailey on that problem just now, he still solved it.
Plus, people good at science usually sucked at liberal arts. There was no way Hailey was a jack of all trades.
With this thought, he was totally confident that he would win.
