Constance smiled. “Thank you.”
After saying that, she looked at Hailey beside Owen.
Owen introduced, “Grandma, this is my girlfriend, Hailey”

Hailey smiled faintly. “Hello, Mrs. Gibbs. This is my birthday gift for you. I heard that you like to paint. This brush is for you. I wish you health and a long life.”
Hailey took out a small box with dark green stripes and stepped forward with a smile.
Constance accepted it and opened it to take a look. Inside was a very finely crafted brush.
Constance liked these things the most, so she could tell that this brush was excellent.
She accepted it with satisfaction. She was surprised that Hailey was meticulous despite her young age. Moreover, Hailey was neither anxious nor impatient. Her smile was sweet and comfortable, which made people like her unexpectedly.
“How old are you?” Constance asked kindly.
Hailey answered obediently, “Eighteen.”
Constance asked Hailey to sit down beside her. “Not bad. The SAT is coming soon. You have to study hard.”
Hailey nodded in agreement.
Constance chatted with Hailey for a while before she said, “Alright, alright. You young people don’t have to accompany an old woman like me. Go out and enjoy yourselves. I think you guys must be weary of accompanying me.”
“That’s not true, Grandma. We’re all here to talk to you. You’re the most important person today, so we’ll do whatever you want us to do,” Alice replied with a smile.
Constance laughed out loud. “I know you’re just coaxing me. Alright, alright. Go out and enjoy yourselves. That’s where you young people should be. Also, Alice, you have to help me entertain Owen and his girlfriend.”
Constance had her reasons for letting Alice play host to them.
Constance naturally knew about Alice and Owen’s relationship back then. However, Owen had a new girlfriend now. No matter what Alice was thinking, as long as Owen did not break up, she had to make Alice give up on Owen.
Constance was an extremely strict person. She would never allow her granddaughter, whom she had personally taught, to come between other people’s relationship.
She wanted Alice to witness how Owen was with Hailey so that Alice would stop the evil thoughts in her mind completely.
Alice’s expression stiffened slightly before she nodded with a natural smile. “I know, Grandma.”
Constance nodded in satisfaction when she saw how obedient Alice was.
Everyone left the room.
The party hall was a gathering place for young people and business people. Constance was old and did not like crowds, so she only greeted everyone at the beginning and went straight to the inner room.
Constance was not around, and Ivan was a playboy. Hence, Alice was the host of the party.

As the host, she naturally had to treat everyone well.
Jeanie had been in the entertainment industry for many years and was quite proficient in socializing. In comparison, Alice was a little reserved.
However, Hailey noticed something.
Alice appeared to be reserved, but in reality, everyone who came over to greet her was a person of status. Furthermore, Alice seemed to be natural, graceful, and at case when conversing with the other party,
On the other hand, Jeanie might seem to be in her element, but she was the one who took the initiative to greet others. She looked unreserved, which made people look down on her.
Hailey lowered her eyes and drank a glass of fruit juice.
Owen’s phone rang, and he went to the side.
After Alice finished speaking to a CEO, she took a glass of wine and walked toward Hailey with a gentle smile on her face. “I’m really sorry, Miss Dalton. There are too many people today, and I didn’t play a good host to you.”
Hailey stood up straight and smiled appropriately. “Miss Gibbs, you’re too kind. You’ve already done very well.”
Alice lowered her head and smiled. Then, as if she had suddenly thought of something, she said sincerely to Hailey, “By the way, Miss Dalton, I heard that on Joshua’s birthday, someone said something to you at the party that caused a misunderstanding. I’d like to explain it to you.
“On the day of Joshua’s birthday, I happened to return to the country. On the day I returned, I asked Owen out, but it’s not what you think. I asked him out because his mother’s belongings were with me. I never had the chance to return them to him, so I asked him out.”
“Why do you have his mother’s belongings?” Hailey asked calmly.
Alice lowered her head and sighed slightly. A sad and bitter smile flashed across her eyes. “Penelope gave it to me. I suppose you already know about my relationship with Owen. At that time, we were dating.
“Penelope thought that we would definitely get married, so she gave me the ancestral bracelet in advance. Later on, we separated in a hurry, and I took it overseas. That bracelet belonged to Owen’s mother. After she passed away, it was taken care of by Penelope.”
Hailey nodded, indicating that she understood.
“Now, this bracelet should belong to you.” Alice lowered her head and glanced at Hailey’s wrist. There was nothing on Hailey’s wrist except a silver chain.
Hailey showed her openly and even said calmly, “Owen did not tell me about the bracelet.”
Alice froze for a moment before quickly apologizing, “I’m sorry, Miss Dalton. I didn’t mean to say this in front of you. I thought… I thought Owen had already told you.”
Hailey smiled faintly. “It’s alright. I understand him. After all, since that bracelet has already been given to you, it’s yours. He and I are not people who care about such things.”
Alice parted her lips in a daze. She did not expect Hailey to be so magnanimous. For a moment, she was speechless.
However, Alice soon found another topic to talk about.
She handed a glass of wine to Hailey and smiled warmly. “I’m glad then, Miss Dalton. Although outsiders think that we are love rivals and archenemies, I think we can be friends. Owen and I are history. Now, you two are a match made in heaven. I sincerely wish you and Owen well. I hope you two can grow old together.”

Hailey took the glass and was about to drink it when a well–defined hand reached out from the side.
Owen coldly replaced the wine in her hand with fruit juice. “She can’t drink

Alice was stunned for a moment before she teased, “Oh my how loving you guys are. Since that’s the case, you can drink on Miss Dalton’s behalf. However, you have to drink two glasses.”
Alice took another glass of red wine from the waiter’s tray and handed it over.
Hailey stopped Owen. “You still have to drive.”
Owen smiled and said that he would be fine. Then, he drank both glasses of wine in one gulp.
Your alcohol tolerance is still as good as ever,” Alice said with a smile. She lowered her eyes as a glint flashed across them.
