At the top of the box, a note caught his eye, the words scrawled in an unusually large script-“Evidence related to Olivia’s crimes!”
In an instant, Julian Couldn’t hear anything else; his hands trembled as he pulled out the contents one by one. The deeper he looked, the darker his expression became!
At the Parker estate, Olivia was enjoying a sunbath when a jarring phone call interrupted her. She frowned, squinting at the screen without even checking the caller ID before answering.
“Hello?”
The next moment, a venomous voice spat through the phone.“Have you forgot about me after becoming Mrs. Parker?”
Olivia paused, a cold laugh escaping her lips.“Forget? How could I possibly forget?”
“You’re the worst killer I’ve ever hired! I paid you a fortune, and you didn’t even manage to kill anyone for me.”
“If I were you, I would’ve offed myself by now.”
As Olivia spoke, a dark figure silently appeared behind the glass doors of the conservatory. The newly bloomed roses couldn’t conceal Julian’s intense gaze.
The moment Olivia hung up, he quietly pushed open the glass door and stepped toward her.
Then came a piercing scream from the glass greenhouse.“Ah-!”
“BOOM!”

A thunderclap split the sky, and in the pouring rain, a blood–soaked woman was hurriedly loaded into an ambulance by a group of panicked servants. Under the rain–soaked night, the blood pooling beneath Olivia was washed away, leaving only faint traces. A pair of black shoes walked away, leaving only faint traces of blood.
The chaos at the Parker estate didn’t reach me in England.
Before coming here, I meticulously examined my body, ensuring no visible scars remained. Only then did I feel at ease returning to England, back to the Smith family. The events of my past life should have ended with my departure. I didn’t want my aunt or my fiance burdened by my experiences.
But little did I know, two people had secretly investigated my past upon my return to the Smith family. One of them was, of course, my aunt. Ever since she established herself in England, she had wanted to bring me over. But I had stubbornly refused to come for Julian, and suddenly saying I wanted to come was out of character for me. So, my aunt discreetly looked into my
past in the country.
When those bloody photos were presented to her, it was the first time she felt rage. Her beloved niece had been bullied by someone her sister and brother–in–law thought was trustworthy! And Julian, the man she’d trusted, had mistreated her niece this way for a murderer carrying multiple lives on
their shoulders!
Fury spread through her chest; Clara felt her brother–in–law
had made a terrible mistake. Yes, her niece had made mistakes,
but Julian could have just called her to handle things! Instead, he not only didn’t inform Clara, but also repeatedly sought my life! If it weren’t for Julian’s past kindness towards me, Clara
would have flown back to the States to deal with him.

So, after calming down for a while, Clara decided to sever ties with the Parker family. She repaid the money Julian had spent on me tenfold, depositing it into their accounts. Thus, the debt to Julian was settled.
To “thank” Julian for his “care,” Clara created two copies of the evidence against Olivia, sending one to the Parker family and the other to the local police station.
Originally, Clara wanted to discuss it with me, but seeing my reluctance to revisit the past, she ultimately said nothing.
The other
person investigating my past was my fiance, William, CEO of Black Corporation. As the future Mrs.Black and a member of their family, he wanted to understand my character in advance to avoid unnecessary misunderstandings later on.
So when William saw what I endured in the Parker family, he was equally shocked, but along with that shock came a sense of heartache. He believed everyone deserved to pursue love. While my initial pursuit of Julian was obsessive, after losing hope, I’d done everything to avoid him.
But strangely, my attempts to evade him didn’t lead to him letting go. And in all this, Julian bore the greater responsibility; with just a little digging, he could have realized how problematic his so–called beloved truly was. Unfortunately, love had blinded him.
Thinking of this, a glimmer of disdain crossed William’s eyes as he regarded Julian like a fool. He casually tossed the documents in the trash. My past was just something for him to be aware of, a way to keep his heart in check. He wouldn’t bring it up in front of me, nor would he let anyone else pick at my wounds.
