As I woke up again, I found myself lying in bed, and there stood Julian, his expression as cold as ice at the edge of the mattress.
“This time, I should’ve locked you up for three days and nights, but Olivia is too kind to hold it against you and begged me to let you go.”
“I knew you still had a thing for me, but listen up, Jane, I could never be into a girl who’s ten years younger than me.”
“You and I? It’s never going to happen.”
With that, the door slammed shut right in front of me.
The loud bang drowned out whatever I was about to say.
I leaned back against the headboard, closed my eyes, and let out a long sigh, murmuring, “Julian, I really… don’t love
anymore.”
In just a week, I’d be leaving.

These days, the Parker estate buzzed with preparations for Julian and Olivia’s wedding.
Olivia was directing the workers setting up the venue while enthusiastically pulling me into the mix, acting as if the recent events never happened.
“The venue and decorations are almost done; we just need a bridesmaid. Jane, you’d be perfect. Who knows, maybe you’ll catch some of the wedding vibes and find yourself a boyfriend” She ended with a teasing tone.
I pulled my arm away, about to refuse, when a cold voice cut through the air.

“She can’t be the bridesmaid.”
The tone was undeniably commanding, leaving both Olivia and me momentarily stunned.
Turning around, I saw Julian.
“Why not?” Olivia seemed surprised by his refusal.
Julian respond; he just glanced at me, his eyes filled with a complex mix of emotions. I hadn’t been clinging to him like before. But the thought of me finding a new boyfriend in the future somehow made him feel uneasy, frustrated. Yet, he
didn’t know the reason.
Julian’s gaze darkened as he was about to come up with some excuse when I spoke up.
Tm a junior member of the family. It wouldn’t be appropriate
for me to be a bridesmaid.”
But the real reason was that in seven days, I’d be heading abroad.
I wouldn’t be able to attend this wedding.
Upon hearing this, Julian nodded, and Olivia dropped the subject.
Just as I was about to leave, she added, “Since Jane can’t be a
bridesmaid, how about giving me the diamond tiara you designed? I really love it!”
i couldn’t help but glance at Julian.
That diamond tiara was something I designed when I was
eighteen and even won an award at an international design
competition.
It was the culmination of countless nights of hard work, every detail infused with my emotions and dreams. Countless

socialites had tried to buy it for a fortune, but I turned them all down.
Because I designed it for myself. I wanted to wear it when I married Julian. I envisioned that tiara becoming our family heirloom, a testament to our love and future.
Julian knew its significance, but didn’t want to disappoint Olivia, so he said, “Jane, as long as you sell me that diamond tiara, I’ll agree to any request you have.”
I forced a wry smile. “No need for that. Olivia’s right, I should show you both my blessings. So, consider the tiara an early wedding gift.”
With that, I called for the butler to retrieve it from my safe and
handed it to Olivia. She was over the moon with the tiara, too excited to make things difficult for me, and immediately rushed to the mirror to try it on.
I calmly watched her back as I turned to head back to my room. Julian, however, frowned as he watched me leave, lost in thought for a long while.
In the early hours, I was packing my bags in my room. I had almost finished packing, and the paperwork was nearly done; I’d be leaving soon.
Just as I hid my suitcase and was about to crawl into bed, the door suddenly swung open with a bang.
It was Julian. His face was ashen as he stormed in, launching
into a tirade, “What did you do to the tiara?”
*After Olivia touched it, her hands started peeling, rotting, and she broke out in rashes. Jane, did you try to kill her?!”
A chill ran through me, spreading from my feet to the rest of my

body.
I quickly shook my head, my voice trembling as I explained, “I never even touched the tiara, I couldn’t have tampered with it,
and I have no reason to hurt her!”
Julian’s expression darkened as he suddenly shoved me onto the
bed.
His voice was filled with fury.“No reason… you’re still obsessed with me! But you shouldn’t have hurt Olivia, if anything happens to her…”
Before he could finish, the nanny burst in from outside.
“Sir, Ms. Reed has fainted!”
“Keep an eye on Jane! Don’t let her escape!”
Julian’s face changed dramatically, and with that, he rushed out
the door.
