Chapter 12
He cleaned up the wounds, and whenever sia hissed in pain, he’d blow on it, rubbing circles on the back of her hand.
Sebastian was so tempted to take drastic actions towards all those that hurt his kitten, but now was not the time to blow his cover. Sia would have to bare with it for a while.
Sia’s nose was scrunched up in pain, but when she saw Sebastian’s furrowed brow, she smiled at him.
“Don’t worry, Bastic; this is nothing compared to Vivienne’s suffering. Wait until you see her face tomorrow. It’ll be so swollen she won’t even be able to show her face in public.”
But Sebastian’s scowl only deepened. He purposely dipped the cotton in alcohol and swiped it across an open scratch.
“Ouch! What the hell? That hurts!” Sia yelped, tugging her hand.
“Here I thought it wasn’t a big deal,” Sebastian rolled his eyes but removed the soaked swipe. “Next time you are about to join a fight, remember the pain. I won’t be so merciful next time.”
Deep down, he knew he couldn’t proceed with his threat, seeing her like this hurt him greatly.
Sia sighed. Maybe having a fiance eight years older than you isn’t always fun. His overprotective nature is sometimes overbearing.
“Yes, sir. I promise not to be reckless anymore,” she teased, battling her eyes at him. “Oh, you know what?– “Yes, sir. I promise not to be reckless I have some good news for you! Do you know the CEO of D.E Group?”
Sebastian froze, his eyes narrowing infinitely, wondering where she was headed.
“Ah. I take it you don’t know either. I heard he is some big shot, so that’s expected. He really deserves my gratitude.”
“Oh? Do you know him?”
“I’m just a poor lonely girl. How could I know such a man? Back at our–Blackwoods mansion, I overheard my parents discussing about him. It turns out that they have offended the CEO of D.E Group. In just 24 hours, they had lost a lot of money to him. The same time this is happening to me, it’s almost like he avenges me.”
“I see. So if the CEO of D.E Group confesses to you asking you to be his wife, would you agree?” Sebastian’s voice sounded tight.

She raised her finger and jabbed at his hard chest.” What are you trying to say here? You think I’m some greedy gold digger?”
Mr. Greg. standing quietly by the side, widened his eyes like saucers at Sla’s action. Did she have a death wish, or did she simply not know who the boss was?
“First of all.” Sia continued. “I don’t even know who he is. Even if I do, aren’t we already engaged? We should remain loyal to each other. As long as you don’t hurt me, I’ll always be by your side.”
Sebastian’s chest rumbled in satisfaction. He leaned down and whispered in her ears. “And I promise not to let you down, baby. All your possession would be returned to you.” His voice was so low that cannot be heard clearly, the warm breath tingled her skin.
“Oh, my ears are so itchy, what are you talking about?” Sia said with a giggle.
“You’ll understand later.” Sebastian smiled inscrutably.
He finished applying the band–aids on her wound while stroking her hair.
His phone rang. Looking at the caller ID, Alex’s name appeared. Sebastian excused himself and walked outside, and answered the call.
“Mr. Sterling, you have a guest. Mr. Sinclair is waiting for you in the meeting room. He insisted on seeing you. He’s here for the Blackwood matters and the land the Sinclair had been eyeing for a while. I tried sending him out, but he is very insistent.”
“That’s alright,” Sebastian said. “I’m ready to meet him.” The fact that Sia once loved the man made his
blood boil.
Sebastian hung up the phone and looked apologetically at Sia.
“I wanted us to have dinner together tonight, but something came up. I have to leave.”
“It’s alright, you should go. I can eat alone tonight.”
Sebastian nodded, then pointed a finger at his left cheek. Sia was a little embarrassed at his insinuation, but Sebastian looked unbothered. How could a 26–year–old man demand a goodbye kiss with such a straight face? What was worse, in the presence Mr. Greg’s watchful eyes!
Closing her eyes, Sia leaned in and kissed Sebastian’s cheek with an audible sound, loud and shameless
even to her ears.
Her face flush red and when she finally opened her eyes, Sebastian was looking at her in amusement.
“I was actually referring to the lotion on your left cheek, you should wipe it off. Though I’m not complaining about that. It was quite bold and unexpect for you to take initiative.”

With that, Sebastian turned around and left with a lingering smile on his face. Sia bit her lower lip, not. knowing how to react after that. She had mistakenly thought he was asking for a kiss, it wasn’t like she wanted to kiss him! Sia could only wish for the ground to open and swallow her.
