Chapter 18
The entire classroom was lively after. Mr. Wellington left dropping the announcement like a bomb.
Sia half expected Vivienne to cause a scene after hearing this news, but she was unexpectedly calm.
“Alright, we’ll discuss it after class. Let’s start dancing now.” Sia politely dismissed the crowd.
For the rest of the evening, Sia stayed back at the studio practicing her dance rehearsal with Bella.
Despite staying well past their shift, the owner of the studio center didn’t mind their presence. He even offered his support to Sia when he heard about the competition.
When Sia and Bella finally got ready to leave, they bid goodbye to the staff and stepped into the dark
night. A cold chill gripped Sia’s heart.
Just yesterday around this time, she was kidnapped in a dark alley by Rosie’s men. The light drizzle tonight might keep them away, but Sia was still scared.
She was debating her chances of escape if anything happens when a car parked at the opposite side of the road honked loudly catching their attention. Sia was startled, but a glance at the car had her breaking
into a smile.
“Look Bella, Sebastian is here to pick me up. I’ll be leaving first.”
“Wow what a great friend you are, Sia.” Bella rolled her eyes playfully. “Is it really true Sebastian’s face is disfigured?”
“He does have scars on his face, but that didn’t diminish his handsomeness in the slightest. In fact, it only made him more endearing!”
At least that’s what Sia thought. The fact that he was always there for her made him endearing.
Sia waved at Bella and joined Sebastian in the back seat. The screen was raised, giving them some privacy
as Alex started the car.
“Hi dear, how were you able to find me here?” Sia greeted, but Sebastian’s attention was outside, studying
Bella as she skipped in the rain.
Sia frowned following his gaze. She jabbed a finger at his side, which nearly broke her finger when it connected with the hard muscles, but didn’t stop.
“What happened yesterday led me here. I was only able to locate you after calling Bella, who also told me something interesting. When were you planning on telling me you applied for work? Do you need money

for anything?”
“Don’t you dare change the subject!” Sia narrowed her eyes.
“You were staring at Bella right now, don’t think I didn’t see that. I didn’t expect you to be a playboy, I’m highly disappointed.”
“Play- what? I wasn’t looking at her.”
“Oh?” Her brows furrowed even more, pursing her lips which only turned into pout.
“I was looking at her but NOT like that. I wasn’t admiring her, Sia, she just looked familiar. I thought I knew her somewhere.”
Sebastian explains honestly. His sincere expression made Sia believe he wasn’t lying and decided to let it slide.
Her sullen expression surprised Sebastian and at the same time made him happy, he pulled her into his arms in a tight embrace and whispered into her ears, chuckling.
“You were jealous, weren’t you?”
He deliberately made his voice low and husky, which was accompanied by a faint minty warm breath fanning her neck.
“Why would I be jealous? With that scar covering half of your face, no girl would accept you apart from me.” Sia joked, then realized how cruel her words sound and winched.
“No, sorry. I didn’t mean it like that! Shit, that came out wrong.” She pulled back from the hug. “There’s nothing wrong with your scars! In fact, you look better than most men, I like it just the way you are.” At this point, Sia is just rambling, trying to take back her words.
“Hmm, that wouldn’t do. You hurt me, kitten.” Sebastian feigned hurt.
“To think my own fiancee actually thinks I’m too ugly to be loved. The least you could do is show sincerity if you want to apologize. Then I might forgive you.”
Sia would do anything to make the situation better, and when Sebastian pointed at his lips, Sia mustered courage and raised her head slightly to meet his, leaning in to drop a chaste kiss on Sebastian’s thin lips.
Sia stayed still for a second and was about to pull away when Sebastian reacted. With one hand holding her to his chest, he used the free one to support the back of her head and deepened the kiss. He didn’t let
go until she was breathless. Sia rested her head on his shoulder to catch her breath.
“I’ll be going to Sundale in a few days to participate in a competition.” Sia broke the silence.

“Hmm. How long will you be gone?”
“I’m not sure yet. The competition is said to extend over seven days and finish by the upcoming Monday.”
“I see.”
They chatted about the competition and what she might need during the ride until the car finally stopped at the mansion.
Sia was tired and sore after a long day. She went straight for a shower and retired to bed for the night. Sebastian, on his part, spent the night in his study going through his papers.
Sia’s trip finally arrived, it was time for her to leave for Sundale. Once she leaves, she won’t be seeing Sebastian for a week. The thought made her a little bit sad. She had met him in less than a month, Sia was surprised at her own feelings.
