Chapter 28
“Come with me.”
Sebastian grabbed her hand and strode out of the coffee shop. They entered his car and sped away, Sia tightened her seatbelt and braved herself for what’s to come.
“I only met to collect my crystal pendant from. I promise to not have anything to do with him anymore.”
Silence.
Sebastian didn’t reply nor spare her a glance. An overwhelming aura filled the car.
Sebastian drove straight to Pinecrest Heights, and literally dragged Sia upstairs to his study.
“How would you explain this to my face.”
Sia haven’t realized he was holding a brown file until he fling it in the air, dozens of photos fell from inside dancing around her. Sia was stunned at how angry he sounded.
She crunched down to look through the photos. They were all taken at the hospital when she Nathan confronted her. Nathan’s arms were around her in the photos.
This time, you went to get your necklace back. What about last time, Sia? How can you insult my feelings. and love for you like this?”
Turned out, he was the only one catching feelings in their relationship. The first one to fall had always been the one that get hurt in the end.
“Last time, it was a coincidence.”
“Coincidence?! Does that mean that you and Nathan are destined soulmates? You tend to bump into each other wherever you go. The gods must really favor you.”
Sia trembled at Sebastian’s tone. She’ve never seen this side of him before. She was used to the kind and gentle man that would stay up for hours talking to her when she’s scared. But at this moment, Sia realized that beneath all that gentleness, there’s a dangerous side to him that she never knew about.
Sia paled greatly which didn’t skip Sebastian’s eyes. He knew she was scared of him but couldn’t bring himself to comfort her. He was too angry and hurt.
Sebastian turned around and walked out leaving Sia crunched down on the carpet. Tears rolling down her cheek and staining the photos in her hand.
The roar of a car engine coming to life startled Sia from her stupor, Sebastian was leaving, she couldn’t let him leave without clearing this misunderstanding.
Sia ran out of the study to catch up with him calling his name.
“Sebastian!”
But it was too late. Sebastian had already left. In her haste, Sia had knocked down a vase on her way out which stumbled to the floor breaking with a loud crash.
“Ms Blackwood?” Mr. Greg arrived. “Are you alright?”
“I’m fine, Mr. Greg. Did you know where Sebastian is going?”
“Mr. Sterling does not inform me of his whereabouts, Ms Blackwood. But he did command me to not allow you out of the house when he is away.”
Hearing Mr. Greg’s words, Sia silently returned upstairs to her room in despair.
Did Sebastian hate her now? Would he ever forgive her? Sia wondered, a fresh bout of tears started no matter how hard she tried to stop herself.
Sebastian returned to the D.E building for his scheduled meeting.
“Look at what you’re handing back after all the time I gave? Are you not willing to work on the project anymore?” Sebastian seethed to one of his board directors.
“If you’re not ready for this, get the hell out of my sight, right now!”
A deadly pregnant silent engulfed the conference room.
“You either complete this project plan today, or everyone will stay back for overtime!”
Sebastian gritted, his jaw was clenched so hard a vein popped on his forehead. He got up from his seat, kicking the chair out of the way as he stalked towards his office.
“This is bad. What’s the hell happened Alex? What’s the deal with Mr. Sterling? I swear he was smiling
just this morning.”
“Seems like something crawled up the CEO’s butt and died. He clearly told me the project plan wasn’t that urgent when I met him in the morning!”
“Hey, don’t stick your nose in his business. In fact, make yourself invisible in his presence and refrain from making mistakes. Even the gods can’t help you today if you get caught in the CEO’s trap.” Alex excused himself from the conference room after he finished speaking.

Sebastian spent his night at the office that day working throughout the night. Anything that would prevent him from thinking about Sia. Alex, as his assistant, had stayed behind too. He prepared a hot coffee and took it up to him at the early hours of the morning.
“Here’s your coffee sir,” the man had lost count on the number of coffees cups he’d make during the night.
Sebastian grunted, taking a sip. His suit jacket was missing as well as the tie. He checked his phone for the calls that had seized ringing hours ago. Thirty missed calls, all of them from Sia. The last one was at 10pm, she gave up after that. Sebastian sneered, that was the extent of her sincerity at apologizing.
“Sir?” Alex said, his curiosity getting the best of him. “Have went through the recording of Ms Blackwood and Mr Sinclair at the hospital a few days ago? I wonder what type of conversation they had.”
Sebastian raised a questioning brows at him. Sebastian had completely forgotten about the file in his pocket.
