Chapter 101
Patrick’s eyebrows arched slightly, gesturing for Stuart to contine.

Stuart continued, “I heard that Finn had a car accident. His car went off a cliff, and by the time they found him, he was nearly buried in snow. Just as they pulled him out, the car exploded.”
Patrick’s brows furrowed almost imperceptibly.
Stuart sighed. “He fell from such a high cliff in such bad weather and yet he survived. If he had died, it would be much safer for you and Juliette.” He added, “As people say, ‘Only the good die young.”
Finn didn’t die, he was indeed lucky.
Patrick frowned. Both he and Juliette would face even greater danger.
“Be careful. No matter where you go, take more people with you, Patrick said after a while.
Stuart was stunned for a moment, then his eyes widened, and he looked at Patrick. “Could it be…”
There was no need to say anything more, they both understood
Stuart said, “Maybe he would die during the rescue?”
Patrick didn’t answer. Silence fell in the study.

At this time, Finn was indeed in mortal danger and had spent most of the night in the ICU.
He didn’t wake up until the next afternoon, and his whole body was covered in bandages.
He stayed in the hospital for a whole month.
On the day he was able to get out of bed and walk around, he asked someone to call his confidant, Landon Cox.
He only spoke after repeatedly confirming with Landon that no one was around and there were no cameras.
“Regarding the business deal I rejected before, inform them now that I’ve changed my mind. The Montgomery family can agree to this deal.
“But before we cooperate with them, I want to see their sincerity and let them do something for me first.”
Landon said, “Mr. Montgomery, agreeing to this deal is incredibly risky for the Montgomery Group, like walking on a tightrope every day. Are you… certain about it?”
Finn’s tone was low, laced with anger. “It’s constant pressure being suppressed by the top three all the time. Someone even think he ?” dared to take my woman away from me. Who does he
Landon was silent for a moment before asking hat do you want them to do, Mr. Montgomery?”
Finn motioned for him to come closer, and finally whispered a few words in Landon’s ear.
A look of shock flashed across Landon’s face, but then he realize it was to be expected.

It was New Year’s Eve.
Patrick let everyone off work early to celebrate the New Year.
Juliette was also getting ready early.
Patrick said he would take her and Louis to see his grandmother Constance, tonight.
Constance hadn’t been well, and to avoid unnecessary trouble, Juliette and Constance had never met.
It was New Year’s Eve, and they were going to spend New Year’s Day with Constance.
Juliette had prepared the gifts and flowers long ago.
After work, Patrick drove to the company gate with Louis to pick her up.
Juliette dressed festively to visit Constance. She wore a red sweater and a loose–fitting black skirt that was casual but not sloppy.
Constance lived in another area, which was some distance from Patrick’s villa. It was probably to give her some peace and quiet.
Upon entering, Juliette saw Constance smiling warmly. The kind and amiable Constance immediately took Juliette’s hand.
Constance’s hand was dry and warm.
Deep down, Juliette sensed Constance’s love for her in the way Constance held her hand. However, the warmth was physically unbearable and painful for her.
Nevertheless, Juliette suppressed the pain and greeted Constance with a smile.
Juliette said, “Hello, Grandma. I’m sorry I took so long to visit you.”
“I know your situation is special. As long as you are safe and sound, it doesn’t matter if you don’t come to see me,” Constance replied.
Patrick noticed Juliette’s subtle expression. He stepped forward to stand between them. He removed Juliette’s hand from Constance’s and helped Constance to the sofa.
Constance kept looking at Juliette. Juliette was beautiful, radiant but not ostentatious, and charming but not seductive. She was completely captivated by Juliette.
“I knew you were a beautiful girl when I saw your wedding video but I didn’t expect you to be even more beautiful in real life,” Constance said cheerfully.
Juliette responded, “Thank you, Grandma. You’re also much kinder than I imagined.”
“We are family now. I don’t have anything for you, just this bracelet. I’ve worn it all my life, and today I’ll give it to you as a gift.”
Constance immediately took off the bracelet and was about to put it on Juliette’s hand.

The moment Juliette touched the bracelet, she knew it was exceptionally well–made.

She quickly declined, “No, I can’t accept it. How could you give me something you’ve worn all your life? You should keep wearing it.”
Afraid that Constance would not agree, Juliette continued, “Grandma, you’ve worn this emerald bracelet for many years and it holds special meaning. You shouldn’t give it away easily. If you really want to give me something, give me something else, okay?”
She winked at Patrick, signaling him to help.
But Patrick said, “This is Grandma’s wish. If you don’t accept it, Grandma will be sad.”
Since Constance was already showing a sullen expression, Juliette had no choice but to accept it.
“Thank you, Grandma. The bracelet is beautiful. Hike it very much. I’ll always wear it.”
“What a good child. I hope you and Patrick can live a good life. But I feel sorry for you. You’ve become a stepmother at such a young age. If Louis does anything wrong, I hope you can teach him and don’t indulge him just because he isn’t your biological child.”
“Don’t feel sorry for me, Grandma. I’m very happy and lucky to be Louis’s mother.”
Louis was well–behaved, intelligent, and loved her very much.
Juliette once thought that Louis was an angel sent by God to comfort her in life. Because of Louis, she had a renewed sense of purpose.
Harper came over and said that New Year’s Eve dinner was ready.
Constance said, “Okay, let’s have the New Year’s Eve dinner. Why hasn’t Stuart arrived yet? He isn’t working overtime on New Year’s Eve, is he?”
Juliette had long known that Stuart was coming to have New Year’s Eve dinner together.
She looked at the time. It was only six o’clock.
“Maybe there’s a traffic jam. Shall we watch TV and wait for a while? Grandma, are you hungry?” Juliette asked. “I’ll get you some fruit.”
“Ask Harper to bring it. Just accompany me.”
Constance thought Patrick was in the way, standing between her and Juliette. She kept signaling him to move, but he seemed clueless today, stubbornly staying put.
Constance glared at him.
Patrick immediately picked up a grape and fed it to Constance. She playfully swatted his arm, and that was the end of it. They exchanged pleasantries about everyday life, especially about Louis’s growth.
Time flew by, but Stuart still hadn’t arrived yet.
It was already seven o’clock. Patrick got up to call Stuart, but before he could make the call, Stuart’s assistant called.
