Patrick hung up the phone and looked out the window at the bare branches swaying wildly in the cold wind.
He exhaled, putting his phone back in his pocket. He turned around and walked toward Constance and the others.
“Was that Stuart on the phone? Where did he say he was?” Constance asked.
Patrick nodded slightly. “Yes, it was him. He said there was a technical problem at the company and I had to go over there. I can’t have New Year’s Eve dinner with you.”
Patrick’s tone was very calm as if what he was saying was true.
He took a step forward, took Juliette’s hand, and pulled her to her feet. He said, “I have to go to the company now. There are a few things I want to tell you. Come with me.”
Juliette followed him to the corner by the window, far away from Constance and the others.
As long as they kept their voices down, Constance would never hear what they were saying.
“Did something really crop up at the company?” Juliette asked.
Patrick didn’t answer immediately. Instead, he raised his hand and tucked a strand of hair that had fallen from her temple behind her ear.
“I can’t have New Year’s Eve dinner with you. It’s your first time meeting Grandma, and I should be with you the entire time. But now, I have no choice but to leave you and Louis here to accompany her.”
Juliette suddenly grabbed his hand, her eyes fixed on him. “Are you really just going to the company?”
“Yes. Although artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly advanced, even the slightest oversight can lead to huge problems. I have to go to the company to see if it can be dealt with in time.”
Suddenly, Patrick cupped Juliette’s head in his hands.
He kissed her forehead, a gesture brimming with emotion yet full of tenderness.
“Grandma and Louis are in your hands for now. Please take good care of them for me. I’ll be back as soon as I’m done.”
Patrick said goodbye to Constance, Louis, and even Harper, before turning to leave.
From the looks of it, he was just going to take care of some company business.
Constance, Harper, and Louis didn’t suspect a thing.
Constance merely said regretfully, “Patrick and Stuart have to deal with work even on New Year’s Eve. Why are they so busy? They don’t even have time to accompany me for New Year’s Eve dinner.”
Juliette clearly sensed something was wrong.
Patrick had said too much. If he was just going to deal with company matters, he didn’t need to explain so much. It wasn’t
like him.
Juliette said, “Grandma, Patrick just gave me a file and asked me to open it now. Is there a computer at home? I want to see what it is and if it can help them.”

“It’s in the study upstairs. I’ll take you there,” Harper said immediately. If the problem could be solved sooner, then Patrick and Stuart could come back for New Year’s Eve dinner.
As long as everyone was together, it didn’t matter if dinner was a little late.
“Let Harper take me there. You haven’t seen Louis in a long time, so let him talk to you more, Juliette said.
Louis immediately stepped forward and took his great–grandmother’s arm, chatting with her.
Harper took Juliette upstairs to the study.
After Harper left, Juliette quickly turned on the computer, her slender fingers moving swiftly across the keyboard.
Soon, she pulled up a map on the page and discovered that Stuart was not in Macroft Group at all.
She continued to search and track, and as she did, her brows furrowed.
Stuart had disappeared in Golden Breeze.
Juliette picked up her mobile phone and dialed Patrick’s number. It rang once before it was hung up.
Juliette waited three seconds and continued to call. Patrick hung up on her three times in a row.
Then after a while, Patrick sent a WhatsApp message. [I have an urgent matter to deal with. You accompany Grandma and Louis first, thank you.]
Juliette wondered if that meant he didn’t want to talk to her.
Yes, once the call was made, the truth would be easily exposed. After all, Patrick did not want her to know what happened.
Juliette replied: [Do you know where Stuart is? Do you know where to find him?]
Then, she printed something random, put it in a document bag, and went downstairs.
Juliette said, “Grandma, here’s a document. Patrick needs me to deliver it to him. Louis and Harper will accompany you for dinner. I’ll be back soon.”
Juliette shook the document bag in her hand, deliberately stepped forward to hug Constance, and kissed Louis’s little face. Constance was very reluctant. “I could have just asked the driver to send it to him. You don’t have to go in person.”
“Patrick said this document is very important and concerns whether he and Stuart can come back tonight and accompany you. Thus, he asked me to deliver it in person.”
Like a child, Constance pouted her lips in displeasure. It was New Year’s Eve, and her children had all left because of something, unable to have dinner with her. She was angry.
But because it was an emergency, and the children were not going out for fun, Constance couldn’t get angry.
After Juliette left, Harper coaxed Constance for a long time before Constance took Louis to have New Year’s Eve dinner.
The table was cold and cheerless with only Constance and Louis, and neither of them enjoyed the meal.

Juliette was driving when she received a call from Patrick.

Chapter 102
“Do you know where Stuart is? Patrick asked straight to the point.
“I have an idea”
“Tell me.”
“Golden Breeze.”
There was a moment of silence on Patrick’s end. “How did you find out?”
“I have my ways.”
Patrick was silent for another two seconds. “Are you on the road? Did you leave Grandma’s placer
“Yes, I’m coming to you.”
“Go back! Don’t come out!”
Patrick’s voice held a commanding tone that took Juliette somewhat by surprise.
“I’m already out. Let’s meet at the entrance of Golden Breeze
“I won’t meet you.” Patrick’s tone was icy.
But he quickly softened his tone. “Be good. Listen to me, go back. It’s dangerous outside.”
“It’s dangerous, but since you can be outside, why can’t I?”
If her suspicions were correct, Stuart got into trouble all because of her. She couldn’t simply hide behind Patrick, and let the innocent Stuart suffer for her.
“Patrick, listen. You’re my husband, and Stuart is my cousin. I have a reason to go with you to save him and share the risk with you. Don’t reject me.”
Juliette’s voice was rational, with a hint of coldness, and in a tone that left no room for refusal.
“Patrick, since I could find out what happened so quickly, you should know I’m not incompetent. You need me. I won’t be your hindrance or put myself in danger.”
She still had to stay alive to seek revenge on Bianca and Finn.
She also had to find out the truth of what happened five years ago and watch Louis grow up little by little.
She cherished her life very much.
Without waiting for Patrick to answer, she hung up the phone and the car sped off towards Golden Breeze.
At this moment, Stuart was reeking of alcohol.
He had been forced to drink a lot of alcohol. His clothes were soaked with the smell of alcohol, and he was being dragged along by two men, both of whom were killers.
To anyone, this scene would look like he got drunk with his friends on New Year’s Eve.
Stuart was thrown hard to the ground after descending the long stairs. He tumbled twice before finally stopping at the
corner.
