Chapter 111
A round of applause suddenly came from somewhere, its singularity making it all the more abrupt.
Juliette and Patrick looked over and saw Finn, dressed in a white suit, looking gentle and refined.
He approached slowly, clapping, his eyes fixed on Juliette, who was dressed to the nines. There was obvious admiration in his eyes.
“Juliette, you look beautiful tonight,” Finn said.
Patrick, having just shed his actor’s identity, had brought Juliette to the charity gala as the founder of Macroft Group.
He was already the center of attention, and his entrance had drawn countless eyes.

Now, Finn had suddenly appeared and complimented Juliette on her beauty. Because of their special relationship, everyone at the scene stopped and looked at them intently.
In an instant, Juliette, Patrick, and Finn became the focus of the crowd, the bullseye of everyone’s gaze.
Juliette knew that Finn was doing it to disgust her and Patrick.
But how could she let him get away with it?
She straightened her back, lifted her chin slightly, and smoothed down her skirt.
“My husband picked it out for me. I think it’s beautiful.”
It was the color of maple leaves, with some yellow and red, like fallen leaves in the twilight, bathed in a beautiful, dreamy glow.
“However, Mr. Montgomery, I always thought you could only appreciate the beauty of animals. But today, you’ve managed to see beauty in humans. Does this mean you’re finally starting to integrate into human society, Mr. Montgomery? You still have much to learn.”
Juliette didn’t even bother to wait for Finn’s reaction.
She walked into the venue with her head held high, arm in arm with Patrick.
Those around them struggled to hold back their laughter.
But because of Finn’s distinguished status, everyone held back their laughter, even though their gazes still made him feel uncomfortable.
However, Finn didn’t show any anger. On the contrary, he watched Juliette’s departing figure and smiled, seemingly not offended by her words at all.
Soon, he also lifted his foot and followed her into the venue.
But as he walked, he muttered, “She’s still angry with me for the mistake I made.”
Everyone suddenly understood.
“No wonder Miss Vaughn’s words were so harsh. It turns out she’s still angry with Mr. Montgomery.”

Chapter 111
“She’s angry with Mr. Montgomery, which means she still cares about him.”
“It was just a quarrel between an engaged couple, but Mr. Clarke had to be a homewrecker.”
“Look at them now. Mr. Montgomery and Miss Vaughn are still flirting. It’s just a pity that Mr. Clarke is being sentimental.”
Juliette soon heard about it.
In addition to being furious, Juliette was shocked.
The people who could attend the charity dinner tonight were all prominent figures, and none of them were young and naive, so how could they still be love–struck?
She hated Finn so much that she pulled back at the wedding.
She chose Patrick, chose to walk down the aisle with him.
Any rational adult would know what these two things meant.
These people actually thought that she married Patrick just to punish Finn.
Juliette had always known that Finn was good at bewitching people, but now she realized that he was more than good at it.
He had practically perfected it.
In that situation, Finn managed to bounce back from his words.
As expected, a shameless person was invincible.
Finn was so shameless.
Juliette gathered her thoughts.
She looked closely at the man beside her. He was still holding her hand, his profile looking defined and cold.
He was her current husband, bringing her to such an occasion, yet hearing so many rumors about her ex.
‘Patrick must be very uncomfortable, right?‘ she thought.
“Mr. Clarke, you are truly a force to be reckoned with. You’re conquering the entertainment industry while quietly expanding Macroft Group. As the saying goes, “The new overthrow the old, and we, the older generation, are about to be overthrown by you.”
At this time, a man in his forties came over with a glass of red wine and struck up a conversation with Patrick.
Patrick gave him a polite smile. “I’m flattered, Mr. Phillips. I’m just riding the tide of the times.”
“Not many young people are so modest these days. For those in tech, it’s important to ride the tide, but personal strength is
even more crucial.”
When Patrick was an actor, his outstanding looks and aloof temperament made him the center of attention wherever he
went.
What’s more, he now had the title of CEO of a startup, and it was Macroft Group, which was developing rapidly, so not long after he entered the venue, countless people took the initiative to come forward to talk to him.

In this circle, he was still the center of attention.
Juliette watched him, surrounded by a group of people, as if his body emitted a divine halo.
Just now she was worried that Finn’s words would affect Patrick.
Now it seemed that she was narrow–minded.
Too many people came to surround Patrick.
Unconsciously, Juliette was squeezed away by the crowd, and the distance between her and Patrick became farther and farther.

Juliette felt bored, so she took a glass of red wine to the balcony to enjoy the breeze and looked at the thousands of lights in the distance.
Not long after, she noticed someone approaching from behind as if trying to embrace her in his arms, treating her completely as his possession.
Juliette’s eyebrows showed a hint of coldness.
Without even turning around, she hurled the wine glass in her hand precisely at the person’s face.
Unfortunately, the person dodged just in time. The wine glass shattered against the wall, splashing crimson liquid everywhere. The wall was instantly dotted with vibrant, eye–catching stains.
“Juliette, you are getting hotter.” Finn’s voice suddenly rang out.
It turned out that the person who had followed her to the balcony and tried to hug her from behind was Finn.
Juliette narrowed her eyes at him and retorted, “You, on the other hand, are getting increasingly shameless.”
Finn walked over to her and stood beside her on the balcony. The wind blew from afar, billowing his shirt.
The two stood there like that; others would have thought they were close friends who hadn’t seen each other in years.
However, Juliette wasn’t in the mood to stand there and enjoy the breeze with him. She turned to leave. Finn tried to grab her wrist, but she dodged him. Then he blocked her path back inside.
“What do you want?” she asked.
“Juliette, just stand here with me for a while.”
“I’m not interested.”
Finn frowned. “Don’t make me angry.”
“I should be the one saying that to you. Don’t make me angry.”
Juliette turned to leave, but Finn pressed in, refusing to let her go.
The two of them actually started fighting on the balcony.
“I never knew you were so good at this,” Finn said.
“There’s a lot you don’t know!” Juliette retorted.

Finn looked at her intently. “Juliette, don’t reject me. Otherwise, I don’t know what I’ll do to Patrick Don’t think for a second that I can’t hurt the CEO of Macroft Group.”
Seeing that Juliette didn’t move, Finn leaned in and kissed her red lips.
He realized that he had never craved Juliette like this before.
