On the way to the other suite, Patrick wanted to take Louis from Juliette’s arms, afraid she was tired.
However, Juliette held Louis tighter when he reached out to take Louis, as if afraid Patrick would take him away.
Patrick pursed his lips, his expression somewhat helpless and puzzled. He didn’t understand her feelings for Louis, which were too deep.
After entering the luxurious suite, Juliette sat on the sofa, holding Louis tightly in her arms, refusing to let go.
Patrick had everyone else leave so the room quieted down. He walked over and opened a window, letting in the sound of the
waves.
He sat next to Juliette for a few minutes. Neither of them spoke.
Louis peeked at his mommy’s face several times. After holding it in for a long time, he finally worked up the courage to say, “Mommy, I was wrong to sneak out. Please don’t be mad at me.”
“I’m not angry. I was just scared something might happen to you.” Juliette patted his head.
At first, she thought he was being naughty and wanted to take him back and teach him a good lesson.
But then, she only hoped he was all right, that nothing bad would happen to him, that he would just be healthy and safe.
Now, she was holding her son, and he was okay. She felt a sense of contentment and didn’t dare let him go, and didn’t want to let him go.
Louis was even more ashamed, and tears rolled down his face.
“Why would you do that?” Patrick asked in a deep voice. He disapproved of Louis’s behavior.
“You think you, a little kid, can handle so many bad guys? You led your mommy into danger. You almost got your mommy killed! Is that how much you love her?”
Patrick rarely spoke, but his voice was cold and deep when he did.
He was always silent and rarely angry, but now he was truly mad at Louis.
Louis cried even harder.
It was partly because his father was angry. He had hardly ever seen his father angry with him.
The other reason was his father said he almost killed his mommy.
He just wanted to keep his mommy safe, but he put her in danger instead. He was wrong.
Patrick pulled at Louis, trying to pull him out of Juliette’s arms, but Juliette held him tight.
She looked up at Patrick warily, her eyes asking him, “What are you doing?” even though she didn’t speak.
The anger and frost in Patrick’s eyes melted away when they met Juliette’s gaze.
His voice softened as he said, “Louis made a mistake. He needs to stand up and admit it.”

Juliette hugged Louis tightly without a word.
Louis cried and said, “Mommy, I was wrong. Put me down and apologize. I won’t run away. I’ll stay by your side.”
About two minutes later, Juliette slowly let go, and Louis got out of her arms.
“I heard the Vaughn family saying they wanted to celebrate Mommy’s birthday in the shop. I know they’re not nice to Mommy. It must be a trap”
Louis sobbed as he spoke.
“I was afraid Mommy would get hurt, so I wanted to find out how the Vaughn family planned to deal with Mommy, so I went
with them.
Tve been protecting myself and didn’t get hurt. I got them drunk and escaped…”
Patrick said, “So you think you’re capable? You were just lucky. If the other party had been ferocious, you’d be crippled by
now.
Louis lowered his head, tears falling down his face.
“Daddy, Mommy, I know I was wrong. I won’t do it again. I made you worry. I was wrong.” Louis cried and admitted his mistake, looking pitiful.
“I’m not worried, but you made Mommy worried. That’s not right.” Patrick said.
Louis suddenly looked up at Patrick. ‘Oh, Daddy wasn’t worried, only Mommy was, thought Louis.
“Since you know you were wrong, go to your room and take a shower. Keegan will bring you clean clothes later,” Patrick said in a deep voice.
Louis glanced at Juliette, “Mommy, I’m going to take a shower and will be back soon to accompany you.”
He rubbed against Juliette’s face and then went to the next room to take a shower.
Juliette got up and was about to follow him, but Patrick pulled her back.
“You’re going to spoil him!” In a hurry, Patrick’s voice was a little deep.
But his heart softened when he met Juliette’s eyes.
“What I mean is that he made a mistake and has to reflect on his mistake. If you don’t punish him, you are spoiling him and will make him good for nothing.”
Patrick paused and continued, “Besides, the injury on your hands needs to be treated in time.”
Juliette said nothing but didn’t intend to go to Louis again. Patrick took her hand and let her sit on the sofa again.
Keegan quickly asked someone to bring the medicine box.
While taking the medicine box, Patrick Clarke told the man, “Watch Louis’s door later. After he finishes bathing, let him reflect alone in the room. His mommy is injured and needs to rest. Don’t let him disturb her.”
“Yes, Mr. Clarke,” the man replied.
Patrick took the medicine box and turned back to pick up Juliette, taking her to the large room next door. He sat her down

on the sofa at the end of the bed.
He got some water and put it aside. He squatted down and first wiped off the blood splattered on her face.
Then he cleaned the blood and wounds on her hands.

He also had to use a cotton swab to pick out the small blood beads that had dried up in the wound.
Patrick was meticulous and serious, and his movements were gentle, for fear of hurting Juliette a second time.
After he cleaned her wounds, it was time to disinfect and apply medicine for her.
Her palms were covered in tiny cuts, likely from picking up shards of glass.
The more Patrick cleaned her wounds, the angrier he got.

He thought, ‘How can the Vaughn family treat her this way? She is their flesh and blood. And they lied to me before my face!
Patrick was unsure of Juliette’s true feelings toward the Vaughn family. He didn’t want her to see his ruthless side. So he dealt with them without her knowledge.
“Does it hurt?” Patrick couldn’t help but gently blow on her wounds.
Juliette stared at him, silent.
Her gaze
made Patrick’s heart race. He blew on her wounds again, waiting for her to speak. However, she remained quiet.
Finally, he finished bandaging her injured right hand but still held it, reluctant to let go, yet not daring to hold it tight.
“Remember to wear the gloves I gave you next time. They’ll keep your hands clean and protect them from cuts,” Patrick said softly, wanting to kiss her forehead.
However, Juliette dodged this time.
The warm yet awkward atmosphere Patrick had deliberately created froze.
Patrick frowned.
Then he sat down next to her, listening to the sound of the waves outside, one after another.
After a long time, Patrick suddenly turned around and pulled her into his arms as if losing control, ignoring her struggle. His lips were against her forehead, his eyes blazing.
“Please don’t leave me. I refused to be a member of the Clarke family many years ago.” Patrick’s voice was low and hoarse.
