Chapter 171
It took Patrick and Juliette three days to find out where Luke was staying.
But neither of them knew about the other’s actions, nor their goals.
But now, the couple did have a common goal, which was to leave quietly for a while, and not let the other know what they were going to do.
It happened to be Friday.
Juliette and Patrick agreed to pick up Louis from kindergarten together.
After picking up Louis, Juliette let the driver drive her car away and got into Patrick’s car. The family of three sat in the back seat, with Louis sitting between them.
“I’ve booked a restaurant. Let’s have dinner outside tonight. I have something to tell you.” Patrick was the first to speak.
Juliette said, “What a coincidence, I was also planning to have dinner outside, and I booked a restaurant. Similarly, I have something to tell you.”
Louis let out a laugh. “Is this the so–called tacit understanding between a couple?”
Patrick hummed in agreement.
Juliette echoed, “I think so too.”
Louis burst into laughter. He felt that his mom and dad were becoming more and more unaware of restraint when it came to their relationships.
Finally, Louis posed the crucial question, “So, which restaurant are we going to?”
“Your mother’s choice, of course,” replied Patrick.
They ended up at the restaurant Juliette had booked, one of the most renowned in Hawthorn. With few patrons, it offered a serene and elegant ambiance.
The family of three sat together, enjoying a comfortable conversation without disturbing others or being disturbed. Midway through the meal, Patrick suddenly put down his chopsticks and turned to Juliette. “Something seems off,” he remarked softly.
Juliette paused while picking up a large lobster and looked at him. “Really? What seems off?” she asked.
She found Louis was also looking at her, as if silently saying, ‘Yes, you are not right!
At this time, Juliette noticed that Louis‘ plate was already full of food, and she had just added food to Louis‘ plate.
“You said before that you have something to tell us, and I think it’s time to talk.” Patrick said.
Juliette said, “Didn’t you also say that you have something to tell us?”
Patrick sat up slowly, his face serious, but he said, “It’s not a serious matter. It’s just that there is a project in my company abroad, and I have to go abroad tomorrow. If it’s fast, I’ll be back in three or five days. If something’s up, it will probably fake ten days and a half months.”

“What a coincidence. I’m also going to be away for a while. The company is in the development stage, and I have to be present. Otherwise, during your business trip, I should be at home taking care of Louis. We are both going out. I really worry about Louis.”

Louis‘ eyes wandered back and forth on the faces of Patrick and Juliette several times. He felt that what they said seemed to be lines that had been thought out in advance.
Patrick asked, “Because of this, you are very uneasy and have to take us out for a hearty dinner?”
Juliette said, “I’m going to leave Louis for a while, and I can’t bear to part with him, so I want to take him out to have some fun.*
Patrick nodded, “Well, I think so myself.”
They pretended to be reluctant on the surface, but in their hearts, they were all rejoicing that the other party happened to be busy during this time, so that her and his actions would not be affected by the other party.
“Mommy, work is important. Don’t worry. I can go back to Clarke’s Villa. My great–grandmother called me last night and said she missed me.”
Louis wanted to be Mommy’s good boy, so he took the opportunity to behave himself.
“But if you go out for too long, I will miss you, so Mommy, can you promise me that you will have a half–hour video call with me every night before going to bed?”
“Of course.” Juliette rubbed his little head.
How could she refuse her biological son’s most basic request for family affection?
“Dad, I’ll give you the morning time. Remember to have a video call with Mommy every morning to maintain your relationship. Louis smiled sweetly.
Patrick put the lobster meat on his plate, and his plate was immediately piled high.
Patrick said, “Go back after eating. Don’t waste food.”
Louis dropped his head.
Patrick immediately asked the babysitter at home to pack up Louis‘ belongings. After dinner, they went home, picked up Louis‘ luggage, and took him directly to Clarke’s Villa.
“Are the Clarkes trustworthy? Wouldn’t it be safer to send him to Constance’s?” Juliette asked, “I don’t mean to offend your family. I’m just worried that there are many people in the Clarke family and it was complicated. Someone wanted Louis‘ life before.”
“The person who wants to hurt Louis is not at Clarke’s Villa during this time. It is safe for Louis to live there for a while.”
Patrick’s tone was gentle and his eyes were full of love, “Don’t worry.”
“That’s right, Mommy. Don’t worry about me. Even if those people want to get rid of me, they wouldn’t dare to do it at Clarke’s Villa, Louis also said, looking up.
Hearing them say this, Juliette felt relieved and sent Louis over overnight.
After returning, they had to do some preparation work. Late at night, after washing up, the two went to bed together. Patrick hugged her from behind and they clung tightly to each other.

They didn’t want to talk too much so as not to reveal too much, so neither of them said much, and they didn’t even ask each other where they were going on business trips.
On the contrary, they felt that the farther away they were from each other, the better. It would be best if they each went about their business during this time.
The next morning, the two had breakfast, took their luggage, and went out together.
Patrick said, “I have to go to the office first and leave from there.”
Juliette also said, “Me too.”
Patrick stepped forward, hugged her tightly, gave her a deep kiss, and looked at her with burning eyes.
“No matter how busy you are, remember to think of me,” Patrick said.
“How can I think of you when I’m busy?” Juliette laughed.
They both acted very naturally, as if they were really going on a business trip, reluctant to part.
“When your mind is too busy to think, you can use your body to miss me, to miss all the perfect nights we’ve spent together.”
Juliette was stunned. ‘Is Patrick, who is always so aloof and noble, actually making a suggestive joke with me?‘
But she couldn’t help but recall the way he did “push–ups,” and her ears turned red.
“Get in the car. Don’t hold up your trip.” Juliette pushed him, but failed. He grabbed her hand.
“So now you’ll remember to miss me?” Patrick’s eyes grew darker, his embrace tightening as if reluctant to let her go.
He really couldn’t be near her. From last night until now, his mind had been consumed by that thing. But just now, he didn’t want her to suspect anything, so he’d taken the initiative, and now…
He couldn’t control himself.
