Chapter 20
Just as Juliette hung up the phone, she saw a new incoming call.
Her icy, disdainful expression gradually softened. When she answered, her voice was even more tender. “Good afternoon,
Louis
“Mommy, I miss you so much! The sweet, soft voice of Louis echoed, soothing Juliette’s tattered heart.
For the first time, Juliette realized that raising a child could bring such intense happiness.
A line suddenly popped up in her mind–In my barren land, you are the final rose.
Louis was the final rose on her barren land.
“I want to have dinner with Mommy tonight. Can I book a restaurant and invite you over?” Louis invited gentlemanly, showing great importance to the dinner.
“Sorry, Louis, Mommy has something to do tonight. How about this weekend?”
“What is Mommy going to do?”
Juliette pursed her lips, feeling there was no need to hide anything, so she said, “I’m going to an auction. There’s something Mommy really wants to have
Louis grunted in understanding. “What Mommy wants must be very important. Go ahead and take care of your business, but remember to miss me, okay?”
“Alright, I’ll miss you.”
Hanging up, Louis walked towards Patrick, who was sitting on the couch as if deep in thought.
He grabbed Patrick’s hand, asking. “Dad, is there enough money in your card?”
Patrick responded with a “why?”
“I just called Mommy, and she said she’s going to an auction to buy something really, really important. I want you to marry Mommy. Can you go buy the important thing for her, please?” Louis’s clear eyes were filled with expectation as he stared at Patrick.
“If Dad doesn’t have enough money, I can support you.” As the youngest heir of the Clarke family, from the day his identity was confirmed, he owned shares of the Clarke Group.
His annual dividends were way more than what Patrick earned from acting.
But Patrick had always forbidden him to use that money. Since he chose to leave the Clarke family with Louis, he would never take anything from them again.
This was the first time Louis mentioned the funds under his name.
Patrick’s face turned stone cold. He grabbed Louis’s frail shoulder. With just a little force, his shoulder could be crushed.
Louis knew he had crossed the line. His dad worked hard acting and earning money to take care of him and his great- grandma and wouldn’t take a single thread from the Clarke family.

He pouted, “I thought this was a special situation. I really, really want you to marry Mommy. Isn’t it fair to buy things for your future wife?”
Patrick secretly exhaled a breath.
His son was young and didn’t understand his hatred for the Clarke family, so such thoughts could be forgiven. But…
“This is the first time, and the last time,” he replied sternly.
“Got it. I won’t make Dad angry again.” Louis nodded.
“You can go to the auction. Dad’s still got enough cash to get Mommy her favorite things. Just so you know, Mommy’s now someone else’s fiancée. Out in public, you’ve gotta call her Ms. Vaughn, or she’ll be in big trouble.”
The way Patrick said that last bit weirded Louis out, though he was too young to figure out why.
He nodded, indicating he got it. As long as he could buy Mommy her favorite stuff, he was happy. But… “Dad, can’t you just take Mommy back? Don’t let her be someone else’s fiancée. I dont like it.”
Patrick chuckled softly, then pinched the chub on Louis’s face, deforming it into a puckered, grumpy expression.
But he didn’t say anything, just got up and headed upstairs, with Louis clomping after him.
At the auction venue at 6 PM, Juliette exited the restroom, passing a corner when a loud bang came from a storeroom in the
corner.
Her curiosity got the better of her, and she edged closer. But once there, nothing more was heard.
Juliette stood patiently, waiting about half a minute before faint noises emerged again.
“Finn, softer, please. You just knocked over a chair. That was close… Ah-“It was Bianca’s voice, sounding like she could barely catch her breath, and the sounds of tangled kisses mingled
Even without seeing the scene, just by the sounds alone, one could tell how intense it was inside.
Juliette smirked. Her and Finn’s wedding was just around the corner, and yet he was fucking Bianca. “What a wild, reckless guy. Guess I was just way too easy to fool, huh?” she said inwardly
Juliette is coming tonight. How… are we supposed to face her… yeah…” Bianca moaned before she could finish her words.
“Don’t talk about her, Bianca. I’ve really missed you.” Finn’s voice was sexy to the extreme.
He had never lost control like this in front of Juliette. Of course, he was disdainful of even touching her.
His own words were. “My feelings for you remain within the bounds of propriety.”
Thus, in her past life, she silently anticipated her wedding, only to be cast into hell
Suddenly, a figure pressed up from behind her, covering her ear
She abruptly turned around, looking up to see Patrick standing behind her, his deep eyes narrowing, thick eyebrows knitted, lips tightly pressed. It was he who had covered her ears.

With his broad, strong body, he guided her to the other side of the corner, then loosened his harids, saying softly. “If it pains you, don’t listen, don’t look.”
When she was first imprisoned in her previous life, she couldn’t for the life of her understand what she had done Indeed, it pained her, so much so that it felt like her heart was bleeding.
wrong.
As for now, she harbored nothing but hatred for Finn.
She wished for nothing more than tomorrow her wedding day with Finn, where, in the full gaze of everyone, she would. bring Finn crashing down from his pedestal and crushing him into infamy.
“I’m okay. If I could, I’d love to walk right in, sit beside them, and clap, praising their almost animal–like way of being ‘happy‘ as quite nice, Juliette said with a smile.
Of course, such scenarios were common during her imprisonment in her past life.
Bianca deliberately allowed her to witness how her husband was deeply in love with Bianca.
Back then, she was filled with hatred and immense humiliation, wishing the whole world would be destroyed.
Now, the more unrestrained Finn and Bianca were, the happier she was and would collect more ammunition against them.
She arrived at the auction early not just for fun.
“Huh?” Patrick seemed a bit surprised at her words. Studying her for a moment, he asked, “What do you want to buy later?” Pausing slightly, he added, “Louis asked. He wants to give you a gift. It’s the first time he wants to give someone a present.”
