Chapter 205

Grace’s fists clenched in anger. She believed Juliette was here to mock her because of the incident at the hospital that morning.
Grace reached for the model plane, but Juliette quickly lifted it High, keeping it out of her reach.
“Watch out, or it’ll crash to the floor and shatter. Fixing it will be real pain then,” Juliette said.
“Juliette, you’re messing with me,” Grace said through gritted teeth.
Grace was used to getting her way, and her status ensured that almost no one dared to challenge her.
She’d never been this mad before, and now, her anger towards Juliette hit its peak.
“You don’t want any money, and you say I can’t buy another one so what else can I do but get it fixed? I can’t give you my son’s model, can I?” Juliette said.
Grace’s eyes lit up as she heard that. ‘So out of the two in the world, the other one is with Louis?‘ she thought.
Louis was always the Clarke family’s little darling. If there was anything special, his grandparents would get it for him without hesitation.
“Of course, I’m his mom. He’d give it to me if I asked, but you can’t just take away a kid’s favorite toy,” Juliette said. “So, I’ll just fix yours.”
“You can fix it, but there’s one condition.”
“Go on, Miss Clarke.”
“If you fail, you’ll give me Louis’s. When I say fix it, I mean make it perfect, without a single scratch. I want it to look brand new, just like the original.”
Juliette blinked. “Is that really so difficult?”
Grace was at a loss for words, her fists clenching once more. However, as long as she ended up with a brand–new model, it was all worth it.
“You can go now. Head back to your room and get some rest since you’re not feeling well,” Juliette told the maid. “When you’re better, come to my company and find Daphne. Let her know who you are and apply for a part–time job.”
The maid wiped her tears, but her eyes were already puffy from crying for just a short while. “Thank you. I’ll never forget your kindness,” she said gratefully before quickly leaving.
Grace sneered. “Wow, you’ve already won over someone here. Is that all you’ve got, Ms. Vaughn?”
Juliette grinned. “Both the head honcho and the family’s darling adore me. Naturally, everyone else follows their lead. That’s why you had to apologize to me at the hospital this morning. Too bad you don’t have that kind of pull.”
Grace was furious, clenching her fists again. Suddenly, there was a commotion at the front–it must be Rob and Jorge returning, along with some guests.
They chatted and walked towards the hall of the main house.
“Jorge, I heard you got a piece by Mr. Denver Kaufman. You’ve got to show it to us later,” Rob said.
“Absolutely! I had my daughter stash it away. I’ll call her to bring it out now and show everyone, Dad’s a big fan of his work too,” Jorge replied.

“Well done! You’ll make Dad so happy.”
“It looks like we’re in for a treat tonight–we’ll get to enjoy Mr. Kaufman’s art.”
Chatting with other guests, the two brothers entered the hall. They called it a family dinner tonight, but they invited all their close relatives and friends.
After all, this was Patrick’s first time returning home with his rightful title–and he brought his wife along.
This so–called family dinner was just a way to make Patrick and Juliette’s relationship public. Patrick’s grandparents really valued this family gathering.
After all the noise and bustle had died down, Grace jumped right back into the topic.
“I don’t have the sneaky mind you do. Your family fell apart, and you latched onto the Clarke family. And here you are, checking out Mr. Kaufman’s work tonight.
“Come on, prove you’re worthy of seeing such a treasure,” Grace sneered.
Juliette whispered, “Is it usually hard to see his work?”
“Of course! Mr. Kaufman is a big deal, one of the top artists in the world. Tons of people struggle to get their hands on an original piece of his work.”
“Even Jorge has trouble getting one?” Juliette asked.
“Yeah, my dad and Mr. Kaufman go way back. But Mr. Kaufman is super picky–if he’s not feeling it, he won’t work. Even if he is, the vibe has to be perfect, and he needs to like the person asking. Getting him to do a piece is nearly impossible. He just did one for my dad the other day. The last one was three years ago, and it’s already worth a fortune.”
Juliette raised an eyebrow
Grace asked, “Ms. Vaughn, how are you gonna prove you’re worthy of it?”
“What do you want?”
“Maybe something challenging.”
“Why don’t you show me first?”
Grace just wanted to make Juliette feel ashamed and let her know the gap between her and the Clarke family. She didn’t mind giving Juliette a demonstration.
Grace placed the item she was holding on the flower bed beside her. In her uniform, she jumped straight up and did a somersault right in front of Juliette.
One, two… and just like that, seven in a row. Her moves were smooth and powerful. With the setting sun in the background, the whole performance was just stunning.
Grace was very satisfied with it. When she stopped, she happened to be next to the lotus pool.
On a whim, she decided to make a rainbow. She tapped her toes on the water, sending droplets flying in a fan shape. As the setting sun shone through, a short–lived rainbow appeared. The cene was stunning.

Grace stood behind the rainbow with a bright smile on her face.
Harmony had just walked over and was about to call out to them when she got splashed right in the face.

quickly moved her, perfectly avoiding the water.
Harmony stood still, seemingly in a daze, as water droplets dripped from her hair.
“You came out of nowhere.” Grace frowned and added, “It’s just pool water. It’s not dirty. No need to look so freaked out.”
Patrick and Juliette looked at each other.
They all knew Harmony wasn’t the type to be scared by a few drops of water. Something must have happened, because she was clearly rattled.
“Did it get on your new clothes? Just go to my room and grab something you like. Don’t give me that deadpan look,” Grace said, her frown deepening.
“No, it’s not about my clothes or the water being dirty,” Harmony said, pale as a ghost. Her voice sounded drained and hopeless.
“Then what is it?” Patrick was puzzled.
“Dad got Mr. Kaufman’s work and sent it over for me to keep for a bit. I asked Juliette to check it out, but before she arrived, Dad called asking me to bring it over. So, here I am with it.”
Patrick strode forward, took the piece from Harmony’s hand, and unfolded it. The water had already smudged and ruined it.
