Beau immediately chuckled. “We were just discussing some smal matters, Ms. Vaughn and I. It’s all settled now, and it went quite pleasantly, didn’t it, Ms. Vaughn?”
Then Beau gave Juliette a look, signaling her to back him up.
Juliette pressed her lips together and glanced at Patrick. “It’s true that we’re done talking. But it wasn’t pleasant at all.”
Beau froze. And Patrick’s gaze darkened as he turned to Beau.
Feeling guilty, Beau rubbed his nose and deliberately avoided Patrick’s eyes.
“If it wasn’t pleasant, then I suggest you avoid Ms. Vaughn in the future, Patrick said, his tone cold.
“What? You’re telling me to avoid her? Me? Avoid her?” Beau askel in disbelief.
Patrick frowned. “What else?”
“Patrick, you’re heartless! After all we’ve been through, you’re really going to side with another woman over me?” Beau retorted.
Patrick’s face darkened further. “She’s not just another woman.”
“Then what is she? Your lover?” Beau asked.
The words had barely left Beau’s mouth before his expression shifted, realization dawning on him.
Beau’s eyes darted between Juliette and Patrick, finally landing on Patrick with a stunned understanding.
So that’s why he stopped me from bidding at the auction, Beau thought. ‘It was so Juliette could win the sandalwood Suddenly, Beau realized he had crossed a line. Worse, Louis was glaring at him with an intensity he hadn’t seen before. Louis, who usually adored his uncle, now looked like he wanted nothing to do with him.
“Ah, haha… From now on, if I see Ms. Vaughn, I won’t just avoid her. I’ll greet her politely, even if she ignores me. Really, it’s no problem,” Beau said as he slowly backed away.
“Anyway, it’s late, and I’m sure my grandma’s waiting for me. If I don’t show up soon, she won’t sleep. So, goodnight, Patrick. Goodnight, Louis. Goodnight, Ms. Vaughn, Beau continued.
Before anyone could respond, Beau had disappeared.
Patrick stepped toward Juliette and stopped in front of her. “He wanted you to sell him the sandalwood, didn’t he?
Juliette nodded. “Yes, but I refused. It was a gift from Louis.”
Patrick said evenly, “If he dares to make such a ridiculous request again, just deal with him however you want. I’ll handle the
consequences.”
Hearing this, Juliette felt a strange warmth in her chest. Her gaze softened as she looked at Patrick.
But Juliette turned away quickly and said, “I don’t let people push me around that easily.”

Just then, a calm voice broke the moment. Evan called out from a distance, Juliette, are you done talking with Mr. Harrison? The car’s ready. We’re waiting for you.”
The anger and force Evan had shown earlier were gone, replaced by the tone of a brother with endless patience.
Juliette smirked coldly. ‘Looks like I’m not the only one they want something from tonight, she thought
With an air of defiance, Juliette turned to leave, but Patrick grabbed her wrist and pulled her back.
“What now, Mr. Clarke?” Juliette asked, raising an eyebrow.
Patrick’s eyes narrowed slightly. “Say goodbye to Louis. Otherwise, he won’t sleep tonight.”
“Oh.” Juliette crouched down and looked at Louis with gentle eyes. “Goodnight, sweetheart. Be good and get some rest, okay? If you need anything, just call me.”
With that, Juliette pulled down his mask and kissed his cheek. Louis lit up instantly, grinning from ear to ear. “Okay, Mommy. Goodnight, Mommy!”
Louis waved his tiny hand as Juliette walked away.
Patrick watched her retreating figure, his gaze lingering far longer than it should have. The storm brewing in his dark eyes only grew deeper.
When Juliette reached the curb, she saw the Vaughn family’s driver pulling up. Evan was already holding the car door open
for her.
“Hurry up. Juliette. Bianca’s waiting for you in the car,” Evan said
“If you’re holding the door, how could I possibly refuse?” Juliette replied icily before walking to her own car instead. Evan gritted his teeth but held his temper. She’ll be home soon enough. Then we’ll see who’s really in charge, be thought.
Forty minutes later, three cars pulled into the Vaughn family estate one after another. First came Juliette, followed by Finn and finally Evan and Bianca.
“Juliette, why were you driving so fast? Evan and I were worried sick about you!” Bianca exclaimed as she rushed over, slightly out of breath.
“You didn’t even wait for Finn. He came all this way to personally deliver the coffee set he won for you. Didn’t you notice him on the road?” Bianca continued.
Juliette didn’t even glance at her sister. “I saw him. So what?”
– Then you” ‘So have stopped the car and waited for him! Bianca muttered.
But Bianca swallowed the words she wanted to say. As long as Finn knew she cared, while Juliette clearly didn’t, that was enough for her.
Juliette, the coffee set Finn got you is beautiful. Evan often hosts guests at home. Don’t you think it’d be perfect for him to use when entertaining? Maybe you could give it to him,” Bianca uggested.
Although Evan wasn’t particularly interested in the coffee set, it was after all antique and quite expensive. Using it to brew

Of course, the most important thing was that Bianca had feeling for him.
Finn replied, “The set is delicate and refined. Honestly, it suits Hanca’s style better. She’s trained in coffee ceremonies, and I’m sure she’d make great use of it. I’m glad I brought it over tonight. Looks like I’ll be treated to a cup of coffee.”
Evan added quickly. “Absolutely, this set is perfect for Bianca. Birica, please accept it.”
Bianca smiled sweetly. “That’s so thoughtful of you, Finn. But it’s really Juliette’s. If she doesn’t mind, I’d love to use it tonight.”
Even as she spoke, Bianca was already reaching for the box in Finn’s hands.
Suddenly, Juliette stopped in her tracks. The icy air around her seemed to grow colder under the pale moonlight.
Juliette turned slowly, her gaze sweeping over the group. “Finn, didn’t you buy that coffee set for me?” she asked coldly.
Finn frowned at the use of his full name, something Juliette had never done before.
“Yes, I did, Finn admitted. “But Bianca is your sister. She knows how to use it properly, and I thought-
Slap! The sound echoed in the quiet night as Juliette’s hand struck Finn’s face.
Finn stared at her, stunned. He couldn’t believe it. The Juliette who once adored him, who had always been gentle and accommodating, had just hit him.
Evan and Bianca were equally shocked. Juliette, who had always put Finn first, had never even raised her voice at him before.
“Juliette, what are you doing?” Evan exploded. “How dare you hit your fiancé? Do you even want this engagement anymore?
