Chapter 78
Chapter 78
Polly’s expression was calm at first.
But suddenly, as if remembering something, her expression gradually crumbled.
Even the smell of drugs in the air lost its effect on her.
“You were the one who insisted on going! It wasn’t me. I didn’t leave you behind!” she said while waving her hands.
Juliette held her hand. “Mom, I’m fine. I didn’t encounter any danger. We are all safe now. You can safely entrust yourself to me.”
Juliette’s voice was soft and soothing.
Polly suddenly quieted down and stared at her fixedly.
But after only five seconds, she broke down again. “No, if something happens to you, none of us will be safe. I just want to live. I don’t want to suffer…”
Juliette frowned and wondered what these words meant.
She couldn’t piece together a complete picture.
Just then, the doorknob turned, and the nurse’s surprised voice came from outside. “Why is the door locked?”
“Why is the door locked?”
The nurse couldn’t open the door. Remembering that Polly was sent here because of attempted suicide, she shouted anxiously. “Help! Mrs. Vaughn’s ward door is locked. Is she trying to do something again? Help!”
Juliette heard the shouts from outside the ward.
At this moment, Polly pushed her hard. “It’s you! You almost killed me! You can’t blame me for this, you can only blame yourself! You are a bitch. Get out!”
Polly screamed hysterically, her face contorted and pale.
Juliette grabbed her shoulders to pin her down, her voice cold and deep. “Then tell me, how did I almost kill you? Tell me everything.”
The knocking continued.
Polly’s breakdown was real.
Juliette desperately wanted answers.
The answers were in Polly’s memory.
But Polly shook her head frantically, trying to break free.
Juliette’s voice was hoarse. “You hate me so much. Why don’t you tell me how I hurt you? Say it!”
Polly kept saying that she had ruined her life.

Chapter 78
Even Patrick was filled with hatred and disgust whenever he mentioned Louis’s biological mother.
Juliette thought, ‘How did I get pregnant? Was I really that bad when I was 18?
‘Why do I always remember that I am an obedient and well–behaved child?
‘Why is there such a big difference between the facts and my own memories?
“Juliette, calm down. You’re going to drive your mother crazy.” Stuart finally reacted and hurried forward to pull Juliette
away.
The banging on the door became more intense, and the person outside was trying desperately to get in.
Juliette shoved Stuart aside and continued to shake Polly. “I just want an answer. Tell me the truth!”
She didn’t realize her own strength as she pushed Stuart directly to the ground.
“You handed me over to those bad people. They almost raped me and killed me! You abandoned your own mother out of fear! You are a bitch who is cold, selfish and cruel!” Polly cried out, her voice cracking.
At this moment, there was a “click” behind her, and the door of the ward was removed.
A group of medical staff rushed in from outside.
Polly immediately escaped from Juliette’s hand and hid among the medical staff. The doctor was calming her down.
“Mrs. Clark–What are you doing here? Did you attack Mrs. Vaughn?” Polly’s doctor said with displeasure.
Juliette was still squatting by the bed. After a few seconds, a wry smile appeared on her face, and she turned to the attending doctor.
She asked, “Didn’t you say that my mother committed suicide by cutting her wrists, and I didn’t care about her? So, as her daughter, I’m here to visit her. What’s wrong with that?”
Her tragic smile was very mocking, even with a hint of brokenness.
It made people feel inexplicably sad.
She was like a rose tricked into bloom by the warm temperature of a winter greenhouse and was suddenly sent to the icy ground to suffer the bitter cold wind.
The attending doctor pursed his lips and said, “Your mother’s mental state is not very good. Your arrival is a stimulation to her. It is not advisable to visit her now.”
Juliette stared intently at Polly.
In Polly’s eyes, there was fear and terror towards her.
Looking away, Juliette got up and left the ward.
Stuart got up and immediately followed.
He did not dare to speak.
He still didn’t understand what Juliette had called him here for.

Chapter 78
Juliene’s mind will echoed with the words showned by Polly. Those fears, hatres, and disgusts were all real
But her mind was blank about what she went trough at the age of eighteen. It was as if the was lost in a fog
When she tried to think about the other years of her life except for the age of eighteen, she hanically remembered them all.
She was not a bad kid
She had been friends with bullied kids and protected them from being bullied again
She raised donations for poor students at school and was more enthusiastic than anyone else.
Whenever she couldn’t do what she liked because of Bianca, she would then feel more or less aggrieved
But at that time, it didn’t seem like such a big deal
She secretly learned martial arts, perfume blending and design. She had many hobbies.
So, she only ever experienced grievance, but never hatred. At least before the wedding in her past life, she was a pure and
innocent.
However, according to Polly, she was the person who abandoned her and drove her crazy.
Juliette thought, Was it because I was truly evil that I ended up the way I did in my previous life, or was it because they wanted to ruin me that me mother would say such a thing?
“Watch out for the hydrant Stuart suddenly stopped beside her. Juliette almost bumped into the fire hydrant, which had sharp edges and would hurt if she hit it.
Juliette, are you okay? Your mother is mentally ill. What she said may not be credible. I don’t think you could have abandoned your mother, Stuart said, his eyes full of sincerity.
Suddenly, Juliette grabbed him by the collar and pushed him against the wall behind him.
“Stuart, how did Louis come into this world? In your understanding, what kind of person is his mother?” Her expression was calm as her eyes fixed on him.
Stuart suddenly understood what Juliette had called him to the hospital for.
Juliette deliberately let him see how she was pressing Polly for the truth about five years ago in order to scare him. This way, he would answer her questions honestly.
Juliette, are you threatening me? Stuart said, “Aren’t you afraid that Patrick will find out about your actions?”
I’m afraid. That’s why I came to ask you behind his back.”
As soon as Juliette finished speaking, she felt a large hand grip her shoulder.
The big hand was like steel and iron, making it impossible for her to move.
Turning her head, she saw Patrick.
