“Let’s leave together.” Patrick’s eyes scanned the scene of those young men lying in blood, a glint of something dangerous flickering in his gaze.
Ever since his mom passed away, his dad’s mistress, Eloise, had taken control. And then there was Eloise’s brother, Graham.
It turns out that Eloise arranged the hit on Louis. Graham gave Eloise the idea.

Patrick came here to give Graham a piece of his mind, but he didn’t realize that Juliette was already one step ahead and had avenged Louis.
Patrick’s eyes were filled with skepticism. It seemed like Juliette actually cared about Louis. She even ventured out late at night to settle the score for Louis.
As he stepped out of the room, Patrick noticed that Juliette and Daphne were already in front of him while Henry was still hanging back, waiting.
Lowering his voice, he said, “Secure the scene and don’t let anyone come near.”
Henry looked puzzled. “Ms. Vaughn has left. Aren’t we going to clean things up now?”
Patrick pressed his lips together, glancing at Juliette as she walked away. He caught sight of the white gloves on her hands, and his expression froze for a second.
“Doing that now will freak her out,” he replied.
‘Huh?‘ Henry thought, completely confused. Juliette and Daphne didn’t seem scared at all.
“I’ll handle it later,” Patrick said as he strode toward Juliette.
It was well past midnight, but Golden Breeze was still buzzing with lights and activity. Patrick made his way to Juliette, who stopped and looked up at him.
He pulled out a packet of wet wipes. “You mentioned the room isn’t clean, so here–wipe your hands.”
Disinfectant wipes meant for kids. Juliette raised her eyebrows, surprised that Patrick, as a dad, was organized enough to have these on hand.
She took off her white gloves and tossed them in a nearby trash can, then carefully wiped her hands clean before tossing the used wipe in, too.
“Thanks, Mr. Clarke,” Juliette said genuinely, still feeling the grit from the scuffle.
“This place isn’t safe. Want me to take you home?” Patrick offered.
“Just send Daphne back. I’ll find a hotel room,” Juliette replied. It was going to be a long night for the Vaughn family, and there was no way she’d be able to sleep.
By the time she got out, Juliette had decided she’d just grab a hotel room for the night and send a hair sample to the hospital at dawn.
Patrick raised his eyebrows and said, “It’s not safe for you to stay alone at a hotel. Louis wouldn’t stop talking about you on the way back. Why not crash at my place instead?”

Daphne wrapped her arms around Juliette and thought, Juliette would stay at my place if she’s not going home. Why would she consider Patrick’s place?‘
Before she could voice her thoughts, Juliette replied, “Sure.”
Daphne froze up, and even Patrick looked momentarily surprised by her quick agreement. He smiled, his deep eyes warm with curiosity. “Not worried about entering the wolf’s den?”
Juliette shrugged. “So be it. But you’ll need to arrange for someone to take my friend home first–I’ll wait here.”
Daphne interjected sharply, “Juliette, why not sleep at my place? Why do you want to go with him? What if he’s a creep? Isn’t it pretty common for celebs to crash with fans?”
Th
Juliette patted her hand reassuringly. “Relax. Even if he’s a creep. I’m no lamb.”
She pulled Daphne aside and whispered, “Did you forget what a badass I was just now? Graham’s up to no good, and I’m not letting him slide. You get Patrick to distract downstairs while I handle this mess. Just give me a heads–up when you get
home.”
“So you weren’t really going to Patrick’s house? You lied to him?” Daphne asked, clearly puzzled.
Juliette smiled but didn’t answer.
In the end, Daphne agreed to let Patrick drive her home, but Patrick quickly said, “I can’t leave Ms. Vaughn here alone. I’ll get Henry to drop you off, and I’ll take Ms. Vaughn with me.”
That totally messed with Juliette’s plans. But she quickly came up with a new idea and winked at Daphne, silently telling her to go ahead.
So, Henry ended up walking Daphne down the stairs.
Patrick and Juliette both had their own plans in mind, so they let Daphne and Henry get into the elevator first. Daphne and Henry didn’t try to invite them into the elevator, which could hold 12 people.
As the elevator descended, both Juliette and Patrick had the same idea. Juliette said, “I’ll wait for the next elevator. I really need to use the bathroom. Can you hang out here for me for a couple of minutes?”
A few minutes were enough for her to kick Graham’s ass.
“Sure,” Patrick replied.
In those few minutes, he figured it would be enough time for him to avenge Louis.
With that thought in mind, Juliette smiled and nodded at him before heading off toward the restroom, only to quickly turn around the corner.
Patrick watched her disappear, counted to five and then headed off in the direction of his room.
No one was at the door. Juliette barged right in.
Graham had just climbed out of the blood, the floor soaked around him, and was rubbing his face, feeling the warm droplets on his skin.
He was a mix of anger and fear, just wanting to make a quick escape and plot his revenge on Juliette and Daphne.

Just as he was about to get up, he felt a presence beside him. Looking over, he saw Juliette had returned, and he inhaled sharply, the color draining from his face.
“I didn’t do anything to hurt you guys, so what’s with all this?” Graham said, trying to keep it together despite the chaos.

“You spent money to get three drunks to intimidate Daphne, all so you could swoop in like a hero and win her over, dreaming of becoming the son–in–law of a wealthy family, like how your sister had made it. Come on, I know what you’re up
to!”
To save time, while talking, Juliette fiercely grabbed Graham’s throat and held him on the ground.
After stuffing his blood–stained shirt into Graham’s mouth to make sure he couldn’t scream, Juliette drew her dagger and stabbed Graham in the arm and leg.
Graham was in gut–wrenching pain but couldn’t make a sound.
“This time, it’s just a warning. If you dare to have any more mischief in your heart, I have ways to kill you.” Juliette’s words hit like ice, wrapped in a dangerous vibe.
Graham was totally freaked out.
He always saw Juliette as the timid, shy type–someone who never stirred up trouble and was careful to fit in as Finn’s perfect future wife.
But tonight, that fierce woman was also Juliette. It was hard to wrap his head around.
Half a minute passed, and Juliette wiped the blood from the dagger on Graham’s shirt and was ready to put it away and leave.
Suddenly, the door swung open, and Patrick barged in, radiating an intense, dangerous vibe. Just like that, the light from outside vanished, and before anyone could blink, the door slammed shut behind him.
At that moment, both Patrick and Juliette froze as if something had nudged them at the same time.
Juliette still had her dagger in hand, not yet ready to put it away, and Patrick looked like he was ready to explode.
They just stared at each other, and the tension in the room was so thick it was almost surreal.
