Chapter 18
Even when everyone was cheering, they did not forget their CEO.
All of a sudden, the question of whether the CEO would participate in this event became the focus of everyone’s attention.
While her colleagues were thinking about this question, Barbara was also thinking about Leo.
Leo had been out on a business trip this week and it had been a few days since she last saw him. When would he be able to
return?
Although he would call back on time every night, they could not talk about anything. Many times, they were silent on the phone.
At this time, someone started an event in the company’s activity group, betting on whether the CEO would participate in this event. Everyone was betting 500 on this event.
Five hundred dollars wasn’t a lot. For a moment, many people responded. The tens of people inside had all bet, and it was almost a tie.
Emily and Jack ran over at the same time and asked Barbara if she wanted to bet.
Barbara seriously analyzed it for a while.
Although Leo was cold, it was the first time since he took over the company, and it was such a big event. Furthermore, they were going to such a rich and powerful place, and he might instruct Jannie to prepare. So she bet he would go there.
When the end of the day, Barbara received a call from Leo. Knowing that he had come back from a business trip, Barbara went back to the supermarket to buy ingredients, daily necessities and snacks for her trip tomorrow.
After returning home, Leo was still busy in the study room. She greeted and went to the kitchen to prepare dinner.
While they were eating, Leo still did not say a word, but continued to eat gracefully.
Barbara peeked at him a few times, and in the end, bravely asked, “Leo, will you participate in tomorrow’s event organized by the company?”
As if he didn’t hear her question, Leo continued to eat seriously.
He didn’t answer but Barbara felt a little awkward as he looked down to eat again.
After a long while, Leo put down his chopsticks, wiped his mouth with a tissue and casually replied, “I’m not interested in this kind of activity.”
Leo did not say that directly, but obviously, he did not want to.
“Oh.” Barbara muttered disappointedly.
“What? Do you want me to go?” As Barbara was disappointed, Leo suddenly said.
Barbara scratched her head, laughed foolishly and thought, “It doesn’t matter whether you go or not, what I care about is the
five hundred dollars I bet.
Under the bright chandelier lights, Leo slightly frowned. Since she wanted him to go, as her husband, he should make a trip.

Chapter 18
The next day, Barbara woke up early, but she was still early.
They had lived together for a while now, no matter how early she woke up, Leo had already dressed properly when she woke up and was sitting by the window reading the financial newspaper.
Sometimes, Barbara felt that Leo did not seem to be a person who lived in this era.
He was odd. Instead of getting information through the Internet, he spent time every day reading a dying newspaper.
“Get up!” He looked up at her, then down at the newspaper.
“Well, good morning!” Barbara looked at him and found it hard to look away.
Today, he was wearing a pure white casual attire, sitting quietly on the single sofa by the window. His legs were crossed randomly, and the sunlight gently shone through the window onto his body, making him look slightly warm.
This man was simply not a human being, but a work of art that was rare in the world. He was so beautiful that one would like to keep him.
Barbara attracted Leo’s attention, but he did not care about her, and continued to calmly read the newspaper in his hands.
His appearance often attracted countless gazes of infatuation, which made him feel disgusted, but he did not hate Barbara looking at him.
After a long while, Barbara still looked at him, and he looked up and looked at her, “Aren’t you still going to participate in the activities organized by the company?”
“I almost forgot if you didn’t say it.” Barbara laughed awkwardly, and randomly found an excuse.
She had originally thought that a work of art like Leo would definitely be able to be sold at a good price if she sold it, but Leo’s voice woke her up.
The company rented two buses to send colleagues to Bentley for vacation.
While the department heads were counting, everyone was looking around, waiting to see the CEO.
Emily said while standing beside Barbara, “God bless me, CEO must come, definitely come.”
Barbara blurted out, “He won’t come.”
Emily looked at Barbara curiously, “How did you know?”
Barbara realized that she had leaked it, and immediately said, “CEO is usually punctual, I haven’t even seen him today, and he definitely won’t come.”
Emily looked down disappointedly, and the female colleague beside him also sighed disappointedly.
These female colleagues knew very clearly that, normally, if they didn’t meet the CEO during their work, and if they didn’t have the chance to show off in front of him, this trip was definitely an opportunity for them.
Everyone took out their beautiful clothes, wanting to show themselves in front of CEO, but CEO never came.

Chapter 18
It took more than an hour to arrive at Bentley at the seaside. The first thing they did when they arrived was to get a room card.
Barbara was originally in the same room with Emily, but who would have thought that Jannie would suddenly stand out, “Barbara, the rooms here aren’t enough, you should stay in my room.”
[annie was a celebrity around the CEO. Everyone was envious of her because she had requested Barbara to stay in her room.
After everyone got their room cards, they were all going to take a look at the rooms. Jannie then said, “Everyone, please wait for a moment. Chairman Leo has something to say to everyone.”
Chairman Leo!
Everyone was shock. Did Chairman Leo really come?
Under everyone’s expectation, Leo, who was wearing a silver coloured hand–cut suit, slowly walked out from the door. Every step he took attracted all female colleagues‘ attentions.
As Leo appeared, Barbara thought that not only did she get back her five hundred dollars, she could even win a few hundred dollars. It was pleasurable.
When Leo looked around them, he saw that Barbara was smiling brilliantly. He thought that he had only taken the time to walk around, yet he had made her so happy.
He walked over and politely smiled at the others, “Everyone just enjoy yourselves. The company will be responsible for all the
expenses.”
Everyone jumped in excitement. Barbara was the only one quietly standing behind him, thinking that being rich was being
willful.
Jannie made an excuse and said that they had finished sharing the rooms, then she led Barbara to the independent villa in the
vacation area.
Seeing the scenery here, Barbara was nervous. Could it be that Jannie had brought her here for another purpose?
Barbara’s guess was right, Jannie sent her to Leo’s private territory.
