Chapter 2
“Mr. Corbyn, I want in on that overseas project…”
“No problem. Give me your best performance tonight, and I’ll give you my life.”
I checked the company’s contracts for the past five years,
Every project was under Daina’s name,
To please her, he handpicked the most famous celebrity endorsements.
The final payment amount? Her birthday,
There were also countless records of luxury jewelry purchases,
Each one sent to her under the guise of “company rewards.”
His love was both blatant and carefully concealed.
Woven into every single detail,
And it pierced through me like a blade.
I had seen these jewelry brands before.
He had dismissed them as freebies from auctions, claiming they were meant for me.
My thoughtfulness. My frugality.
Had all become weapons used against me.
I let out a self–mocking laugh and stopped reading.
Instead, I contacted a lawyer to draft a divorce settlement and discuss asset division.
No one would take what was rightfully mine.
I stayed up all night.
In the morning, I went to wash up.

Chapter 2
My phone rang
Greyson’s puzzled voice followed closely behind.
“Emma, what’s this appointment you made?”
I quickly took my phone and casually replied,
“Nothing, just a beauty treatment. Didn’t you say I should dress up more?”
“You have a meeting today, right? You should go
He didn’t question it, only pulling me into an embrace, his lips brushing against my ear.
“My wife is the most beautiful woman in the world, even without makeup. Marrying you was the greatest blessing of my life.”
I smiled but said nothing.
“As a reward, I have a special gift for you today.”
“Okay, I’ll be waiting at home.”
The moment he left, a driver delivered an exquisite breakfast.
For five years, he had ordered breakfast from my favorite hotel every single morning.
I had once thought this was love.
Now, I knew it was just a way to placate me.
If he truly cared, why hadn’t he learned to make a single dish for me?
He had gone to such lengths just to keep me from confronting Daina.
I dumped the breakfast into the trash and left.
This five–year farce was finally coming to an end.
When I consulted the lawyer about the division of assets,
He said the longer the marriage, the more complicated the entanglements of interests.
Drafting a detailed division agreement would take at least two more days.

I didn’t ask further and handed him the records of Greyson giving jewelry to Daina.
We agreed that I would pick up the agreement in three days.
Then, I turned and left the law firm.
On my way out, Greyson’s company account posted a celebration video.
In the video, people raised their champagne glasses high.
As the liquid sprayed into the air, Greyson turned and shielded Daina, getting his back soaked.
I recognized that suit–it was the anniversary gift I had given him last year.
This year’s gift had already been returned.
I arrived at the company just as the celebration reached its peak.
Under the gaze of all his employees, Greyson announced that he was transferring half of his shares
to Daina,
In addition, he transferred a bonus of 13.14 million dollars.
The employees erupted in envious chatter:
“Oh my god, that’s half the company’s shares! Daina just hit the jackpot–she’s practically the new
boss now!”
“Don’t talk nonsense! Don’t you know Mr.Corbyn is already married? If Mrs. Corbyn hears you,
you’re done for!”
“Come on, everyone knows Mrs. Corbyn is just a nobody. Mr.Corbyn only brings Daina to events–she’s young and beautiful, what man could resist? Even he couldn’t say no to her!”
“Just watch, one day the company might really bear Daina’s name.”
I clapped with a smile.
Greyson caught sight of me in the crowd, his expression instantly flustered.
“Why are you here?”
“Don’t misunderstand. I was just handing out bonuses to the employees, nothing more…”

Daina stepped forward, holding the share transfer agreement in her hands.
“That’s right, Emma. Mr.Corbyn is such a good boss after all!”
“If not for his care, how could I afford to live in a river view villa?”
A group of employees had gathered, eager to watch the drama unfold.
I couldn’t be bothered to say much. Instead, I simply looked at Greyson.
“It’s just a bonus. That’s normal–I’m not unreasonable.”
“The incentives meant for employees should never be withheld.”
“You go ahead with your work, I just stopped by to take a look.”
Greyson thought I was angry and rushed after me, trying to explain himself over and over.
Watching him anxiously justify himself, I suddenly felt like laughing.
To please Daina, he had been willing to let our three children die.
Now that he had gotten what he wanted, who was he trying to put on an act for?
“Don’t worry, I’m not unreasonable. I don’t understand business–just do what you think is right.”
I could visibly see his relief.
He personally escorted me out of the company.
Before I left, he even took the time to remind me:
“I’m bringing you to the celebration party this time, don’t be upset. I have a big surprise for you.”
