Chapter 24
Leo sat perfectly straight and continued to eat earnestly and gracefully as usual. He did not speak much and did not say whether it was delicious or not.
After getting along with him for a few days, Barbara knew that he didn’t have much to say, so she didn’t care about it.
They were almost done eating. Barbara saw that Leo was blushing, and asked worriedly, “Leo, what’s wrong with your face?”
“I’m fine.” Leo got up, “I’m going out for a while, I might not be back tonight.”
Barbara looked at him, and said dejectedly, “Then pay attention!”
Leo returned to his room and took a jacket, then quickly left without saying a word.
After he went downstairs, he took out his phone and dialed a number. “Immediately drive me to the hospital.”
On Monday, when Leo did not return for the night, he called and informed Barbara that he was on a business trip. Barbara had a new project to prepare.
As Amy said, the Grand’s leader liked Barbara’s last project very much. For this project, he would let
Barbara be responsible for it, and she had to submit a preliminary draft of the project within three days.
In just three short days, it would definitely not be easy for her to submit a proposal that would satisfy
them.
Barbara was also a person who treated her work extremely strict. She couldn’t get rid of her work, and
she was also one of those people who were too busy to even eat.
At noon, Jack walked over and looked at Barbara lovingly. “Barbara, let’s go outside for lunch.”
Barbara said without looking up, “You may go. “I’ll go when I finish my work.”
He had worked with Barbara for three years already, so didn’t he know that was Barbara’s excuse? Thus, he reached out and pressed her hand, as Barbara was holding the mouse, “Barbara, let’s eat first, then come back after eating, okay?”
Barbara withdrew her hand and only then did she looked up to look at Jack. When he saw Barbara, he
felt in love with her.

Barbara felt nervous. It seemed that she had to let Jack know about, and she couldn’t let him misunderstand her continually.
She pressed the standby button and got up. “Let’s go.”
This was the first time Barbara agreed to eat together with him. Jack was secretly happy, and chose a relatively quiet shop, wanting to take the opportunity to talk to Barbara.
Sitting down, Jack took the initiative to order a few expensive dishes, but did not ask whether Barbara liked them, and then looked at Barbara with a smile.
Barbara understood, but pretended not to understand. She thought that it would be great if Leo could call her at this time.
Just as she thought that, Barbara’s phone rang.
Barbara smiled apologetically at Jack before answering, “Hubby, I’m eating outside with my colleagues. you don’t have to worry about me.”
“Barbara, you are truly showing off in front of me, right?” Freda said unhappily.
Barbara smiled even more gently, “Mn, I know, I have already done what you said, I will eat. If you believe me, I’ll take a picture and show you when the dishes are served.”
don’t
Freda and Barbara had been friends for so many years, they seemed like the same person. If she still couldn’t know what she meant, then she wouldn’t be Freda.
Therefore, Freda also cooperated with Barbara and said, “Then come back early tonight, your husband is waiting for you to warm his bed.”
Barbara smiled shyly again, “It’s too disgusting.”
With that, Barbara hung up, but just as she hung up, another call came in, this time it was her real
husband, Leo!
Barbara was slightly shocked. She looked at Jack, then laughed embarrassedly before answering, “Hello?”
Leo said softly, “I had someone prepare lunch, why didn’t you go over?”
Barbara couldn’t reply that she was already eating, because the moment she said that, she would reveal herself in front of Jack immediately.
She clenched her teeth and said sweetly, “Hubby, I will take good care of myself, don’t worry about me.
When Barbara said that, Leo kept silent for a long time. It was so silent that Barbara thought that Leo had
hung up.

Chapter 24
After a long while, as she didn’t hear Leo speak, Barbara finally realized that things were in a bad way. She wondered how Leo would think of her.
After a long while. Leo said softly, “I will go back on Thursday, take care of yourself*
“Alright.” Barbara felt relieved. Fortunately, Leo would be back in a few days, so he should have forgotten about it when he returned.
Jack felt very sad when he heard Barbara call him husband, and only when Barbara hung up did he say, “Barbara, are you married?”
Barbara nodded and said. “It should not be strange for me to get married at my age.”
Jack had prepared so much that he couldn’t say anything, he could only laugh dejectedly, “Bless you.”
Although he liked Barbara, but he felt that he didn’t deserve her. He comforted himself that Barbara had got marriage, and it was a good thing.
Barbara smiled and thanked him.
Let Jack know that she was married before he could even finish what he wanted to say. In the future, everyone would be able to work as hard as they used to, and they wouldn’t feel awkward meeting each other again.
However, that night, Barbara did not feel that she was very quick–witted.
When she slept soundly at night, Barbara felt that there was someone sitting beside her.
She was still very sleepy, but the moment she smelled the familiar scent of a man, she was instantly
scared awake.
She suddenly sat up, rubbed her eyes, and looked at the man sitting on the bedside surprisedly. “You … didn’t you say you wouldn’t be back until Thursday?”
However, Leo replied indifferently, “I have something to deal with here. I’ll fly back to California in the
morning.”
His original work plan could only be completed on Thursday, but since Barbara had already hinted that she missed him, as her husband, he couldn’t pretend that he didn’t hear it.
After talking to Barbara at noon, he had her assistant book a plane ticket back home for the night, and then flew back early in the morning to continue working.
Remembering the call at noon, Barbara scratched her head with a blush, “Then have you eaten dinner yet? Do you want me to cook some supper?

Chapter 24
When Leo finished talking about work, it was 8 PM. After that, he rushed to the airport without stopping for a moment and took the 10 pm flight back to Barcelona.
From California to Barcelona, they needed more than two hours to fly. It was already close to one in the morning when they arrived at Barcelona Airport and then arrived home. It was already two in the
morning.
At nine in the morning, there was still a very important meeting that had to be hosted by him. The secretary booked Leo to fly to California from Barcelona at five o’clock, and an hour later, he would he setting off for the airport.
He was pressed for time and Leo had never eaten anything provided by the plane, so he had not eaten since noon yesterday.
